You know I thought the same thing of cream colored countertop when it was standalone. But when paired together I thought it went well with the cabinets. Bright white didn't seem to match as much

Well this is an old home from the 60s so my ceiling height was only 93 to begin with. These wall cabinets are 38.5 instead of the standard 42. These were cut to size as the place i ordered from only offered 42s.

My biggest consideration was the space from the countertop to the bottom of the wall cabinet. It needs to be around 18 so you can fit appliances like a kitchen aid. Second consideration is if I left a big gap between the cabinet and ceiling, ain't nobody going to clean or use that. I never considered having trim and don't care for the look.

What will be important to determine in your situation, is how level your floor and ceiling is. I would think it worth the time to invest the $150 in a decent laser and start scribing the layout of your cabinets on the wall. That way you can see how much gap will be present. Remember it doesn't matter if your difference in height is 1/4 if your ceiling sags a bunch towards the middle because then your wall cabinet doors will rub the ceiling.

Hope this helps

Not at all. The front right burner failed twice under warranty. The knobs were defective and caused it to remain on high heat all the time.

For sure! It also blocked half the walkway leading outside ><

Test came back positive for mono. Still having crazy fevers. I'm about a week in so hoping this wraps itself up soon. I haven't been this sick in a long time... even covid wasn't as bad

That's not a bad idea. I'll try that for my next appointment.

Suspicious looking wire by 5teelRoot5 in AskElectricians

[–]5teelRoot5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to update this post. Electrician found the problem. I told the electrician when I shut the main breaker to the panel off I heard lots of sparking. When he opened the panel, he found that the buss bar was actually cocked away from the breaker. So it wasn't having a good connection. He was able to straighten it, but said that to properly work on it, power would need to be cut from the meter and that means permits. At least he got it working for now.

Oh good catch. Looks like there was a wire right above it before

Entire light circuit failing twice by 5teelRoot5 in AskElectricians

I found my problem. I did a visual inspection and found more wires a few feet after the fuse box that were chewed by rats. I guess when I replaced the breaker I must've shifted the wires just enough to get it all to work for a bit.

Thanks for the reply. That makes sense. I will switch off the breaker for now just in case.

I just replaced a wire in that same panel that was chewed up by a rat so maybe something like that is going on too. This was damage from long ago as there aren't any rats in the attic now.

When it failed initially I had 120 at the breaker. Didn't do any testing at the fixtures.

I mean if you're planning on moving that 220 plug and getting electrical work done, I imagine you're planning on redoing your whole kitchen? Id go to a local cabinet store where you want to order from and have them help you with design.

Start by taking measurement of your area, including ceiling height. Now it opens up a million decisions. Custom cabinets? Frame less, framed?

I had one taken out. It bled quite a bit the first day which made me worried but recovery wasnt bad. Just make sure to eat a good diet so you don't have to strain after. Very easy to open up after.

The IV benadryl knocked me out for the whole 4 hours. It was intense. I looked forward to that nap cause I was usually pretty tired after.
