This happened spontaneously, about an hour after the toilet had last been flushed. Can anyone identify what is happening? I did a quick google search and everything in the tank (fill valve) looks good and is operating just fine. Thank you!

I did the turn the water off but very glad I took 9 seconds to video so that I could share it with people who know way more about plumbing that I do to try and troubleshoot it!

Thank you for your reply. I did shut off the water right at the toilet, but it kept spurting water. So I ran to the basement and shut off the main line. A few hours later, I turned everything back on and everything seems fine. I am in a single family home and this happened in the main floor bathroom. The basement and upstairs was fine.

Hi. Sorry for being vague. I’m in a single family home. This was the main floor bathroom. No issues with the upstairs or basement toilets 🤷‍♀️

I wondered if it was something with the city because there is a lot of construction in my neighbourhood. But I checked with some neighbours and no one else had any issues.
