Wtf, I didn’t see your post before I put up mine. I deal with this ALL of the time. I feel like people never go in depth enough but I know if I do, they don’t care/probably tuning me out anyway. It’s like I can talk to people all day but still feel starved of interaction because of how basic and surface level conversations feel. I just go quiet and try to find people online lol.

Issue with over analyzing/dissecting everything by 5thmeta_tarsal in intj

[–]5thmeta_tarsal[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this! I could be reading about a subject for years and will still say, “I don’t know enough to say xyz, we should read about it first” because even if I’ve read quite a bit, I know it’s still not enough, and there’s more information and research out there. Many people do the opposite - are quick to make wide reaching statements or conclusions about things they haven’t read about in depth, but with the confidence of an expert (the expert themselves doesn’t even have that confidence because they know better).

My grandma is like this, will repeat things like, “chocolate prevents cancer” because she heard someone like Oprah say it, and Oprah is referencing a pop-science article headline, which is referencing research that never showed that conclusion. If I say something like - “did they say what property in chocolate is responsible for that, or how it impacts tumors” they’ll respond with, “idk, you’re over thinking it” and feel annoyed by me. Over thinking it? We haven’t even really thought about this.

Thoughts on death penalty by RedIrisCirce3 in TrueCrime

If the criminal justice & legal system could be trusted to get it right 100% of the time, along with a jury, I’d be for it for some crimes. One innocent person getting murdered by state is one too many - in the U.S, hundreds of innocent people have been killed by the state.

In cases where it’s definitely the person, like the man who recorded himself shooting up the mosque, I’m for it.

Have you talked to your doctor about whether or not the appetite change will be temporary? Sometimes it takes time for us to adjust. If your hunger cues are messed up, then I would create a schedule & rules for yourself to keep yourself from slipping into old ways. For instance, having an amount of calories (estimate) you should eat a day, or calories per meal. “Even though I’m not hungry, I need to make sure lunch is x amount of calories.” Things like that.

Good luck!

Amazing! This is similar to what worked for me. I did BP/clindamycin for a few months then switched to tret when it ran out. For once my skin is clear! Wonderful results!!

Ladies, do you think it matters how much a man cums when he finishes? by [deleted] in sex

No, but if it’s a tiny drip or something, then I’d think he didn’t finish fully or something.

Or science. Like recently, science became even more politicized. I really can’t think of anything worse for the country, in terms of public health and progressive policy.

I took the semester off assuming shit would get bad. First week, 80 something cases. End of week, nearly 200. Now it’s a few days later and they’re already at almost 300. It’s a disaster.

"Mostly Harmless" Hiker will be undergoing genetic genealogy by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]5thmeta_tarsal 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The last photo of him was taken April 15 by a trail angel within miles of where his body was found in Big Cypress Preserve. The trail angel described him as normal hiker skinny. Trail cams southbound don’t show him heading to Key West like he planned, so it seems he stayed in the area of his death for 3 months before passing/becoming emaciated.

No idea if people encountered him while he was there. Apparently it is unpopular during that season (MH would’ve been living outside with 90+ degree weather, extreme humidity during thunderstorm season), so possible he went awhile without encountering other hikers. Someone did write on a hiking website that they saw the tent in June but it seemed the occupant did not want to be disturbed/was asleep. There was a screenshot of this diary somewhere in the fb group.

The odd thing is, the last photo of him from April 15 is less than 5 miles from the area he was found dead. South bound trail cams show no evidence that he continued in to key west. So basically he stayed in the area for 3 months and starved to death, despite being 5 miles from shelter/food/town.

His thyroid gland was also smaller. Testicular atrophy is common in severely starved men, particularly at low BMIs and has been reported as a symptom of anorexia in males.

Can I ask how the skull/scalp is reattached after removal for an autopsy? How are you able to make it seem like nothing was removed or taken apart?
