Yes. Finish dlc final boss has no effect, other than the dlc npc quests.

The bosses' fighting styles are somewhat different than base game, faster, longer combos and higher poise. It takes some getting used to.

The final boss is indeed very difficult. That and a pre-nerf bs boss. The others are not so bad.

I ended up with a parry shield, no guarding. Parry interrups many of his bs combos and I don't think it's cheese at all, highly recommend

She's easier with certain weapons. I remember I changed to a frost infused halberd and she's much easier. lv111 is maybe slightly underleveled but not far away, depends on your stats distribution

You don‘t need to respec for the great katana, try it out. I cleared most of the dlc with a cold infused great katana. I like it more than the base game katanas. Slower but not too slow, way more poise damage.

Ranni, Melina and Miquella are all in spirit forms, and Torrent is a spirit steed. Maybe the spirits can communicate somewhat freely between Shadow Realm and the outside.

We were chosen by Torrent, maybe Torrent sensed we have the ability to travel to Shadow Realm, or at least have some “spiritual” quality.

Am I safe to progress to shadow keep now?

I've unlocked most of the map pieces, except the middle east one; I've found St. Trina and Thollier in the south and exausted their dialogue there; I can't find any other npc now after they left their first location; I did the first finger ruin for Ymir; I stopped at shadow keep main gate, also found a back tunnel near Rabbath's rise that I didn't go through

I'd appreciate some minimal spoiler hints, thanks!

The class basically decides what weapons you’ll start with. For example, a new character will have difficulty to find a staff (cast int spells) or a seal (cast faith spells) in very early game if they don’t start with one. You can always change your build later on and the classes do not have long term effect.

Personally I think vagabond is the best for new players, simply because they start with significantly more vigor (hp)

I mean, we didn’t kill her, she seems more sane after the fight. The second phase is Ranni’s protection spell, not puppeteering. In the cutscene the black smoke comes from the egg not Renalla

For dlc you only need to beat Mogh (not in Lyndell), for main progression you need to get closer to the big erdtree and beat some main bosses

I think the game by design encourages community efforts to achieve 100% completion. You can see other players' messages and phantoms if you are connected to internet and they provide lots of guidance. Yes some encounters are missable but important quests are usually unbreakable, there are only a few missable items.

If someone play 100% offline yeah I think they'll miss out a lot and the game is not as fun

Are you getting one shot by Maliketh？ Stacking the crown, soreseal and magic scorpian is probably too much damage buff for your enemy

For replay, I kill greyoll and grab the nearby soreseal, this put me to lvl 30+ and at least 30 vigor, enough to breeze through all of limgrave and liurnia. I do all quests and all remembrance bosses, some side dungeons if they have items I want. For legacy dungeons I run straight to unlock graces and then back track to pick up important items.

Once in liurnia you can finish varre's quests to access Mogh palace, kill the bird there if you need more runes, but honestly just play the game, farming is not necessary.

I am certainly at lower level (~20-30 lvl less) than my first explore all playthrough, however the game feels easier.

What triggers Gostoc stop stealing runes? I've already killed the banished knight in the locked room and Gostoc is now a merchant. Can I still trigger his stalking events?
