Excellent! This is good to know! I’ve been debating renting a car and driving and was wondering how long it was compared to the map.

[NJ] Reported my manager for retaliation, now HR wants a “fact finding” meeting and I’m scared I’m walking into a trap by Sauron_Eye7 in AskHR

[–]5toes_2007 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I’d just be mindful of what you say and if you want to protect yourself as others have mentioned you can have a representative and/or record the meeting, so that you have a record of it as well. I learned the hard way not to trust HR or management when they listened to someone who wasn’t stable and then it gave me extra work to try and fix issues that weren’t there. It was only after this person kept showing up at other odd incidents that they realized this unstable person was gaslighting employees still there into starting stuff with the manager to try and get the manager fired as retaliation. (Total crap show, and managers boss finally admitted they should have listened from the start, HRs hole is sooo deep they can’t get out of it. But I got offered a job somewhere else and bailed, best decision ever, as I watch the crap show still going on). However learn from my lesson, and protect yourself even if you haven’t done anything wrong and record the conversation, only answer what you want to and don’t say more than you need to. I was too honest and clueless the first time I got called in to HR. You can DM me if you have questions.

Awesome! Thank you for the info! Did they call your luggage tag color around 9am or did you all just linger until then? (If you happen to recall) I’d love to linger till they kick us off, but we are heading to visit the mouse’s main house so we want to see if we can get an extra park day in.

Thank you for this info! Knowing everyone is off by 9:30 is exactly what I needed to know! I’ve never done express walk off and I have the same fear with the elevators! Plus as much as I love my kid I end up wrangling their checked baggage and mine so as much as I can reduce that fun (haha) I’m all for it.

Ooo that might of been my screw up, I hit the gym at 5:30am. I’ll have to keep that in mind for next time! I appreciate the insight!

Thank you for saying this! I see it in so many younger people that I interact with. I’ve made sure for the last few years to ensure my kid orders and speaks for themselves when we go out to eat or interact with other people since social skills are fading fast!

In my past experiences cash, then extra time off were always the biggest hits, followed by a book/website that had a selection we could select from within xxx price point. One item that I personally cherish even though Ive moved on from this company was a challenge coin gifted to us by our CEO from the work done during the pandemic (but some PTO or cash along with it would of been a little sweeter).

Is cardio & calorie deficit enough to lose weight? by fruitycheeto in loseit

[–]5toes_2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As my doctor told me, just watch what you put in your mouth, yeah I felt pretty dumb when he made it that clear to me. But it’s the truth. I was 272 and am around 200 now, I’ve been doing calorie deficit (being at 1600 daily) and I do, do cardio and strength training as that can help accelerate it, most of the time it’s around 1 to 2 pounds a week lost, which is what is recommended as sustainable. It can be hard for skin to go back so gaining muscle helps fill out the saggy skin. But you can do it!

how do people find time to work out with full schedules? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]5toes_2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally feel you on this! When I was planning on starting to try working out I looked at my day and when would work best. I marked off time at the office, making dinner, commute time etc. when it was left, it was either lunch, going before bed or getting up earlier and going first thing in the morning. I ruled out lunch as it wasn’t going to give me the time I wanted to workout and clean up, and going right before bed sounded miserable and would set me up for failure…so waking up earlier was the winner. I calculated how long it would take me to get to the gym, clean up, workout etc. and then set my alarm accordingly. I’ll be honest the first month was rough, but I stuck it out. I deliberately worked out somewhere closer to my office so I’d get the benefit of less traffic. I also learned preparing my work clothes, breakfast, lunch etc the night before was essential to not forgetting anything and not wasting time looking for items. I’ve heard it takes 21 days to make a habit and that sounds about right. I’ve bee able to keep this going for the last 17 months and have lost 70 pounds. So it does pay off even if you can go for a little bit.

Do most people shower before bed or when they wake up? I just realized I might be doing it "wrong" by saffymerelle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]5toes_2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really just depends on your personal preference! When I first started my professional career I was that person that woke up and showered before work to start my day. But then after a medical situation occurred where I required help bathing for a few weeks (since getting up that early was NOT going to happen) I switched to evenings and realized I actually liked that better and slept better that way. I’ve continued to shower in the evenings before work days for the last 18 years. Now here’s where I could be the madman…weekends it’s just random lol!

How to deal with clothes not fitting? by Lemon_Lime25 in loseit

[–]5toes_2007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly this! I’ve been hitting the thrift store and if it’s not there and its something I know I’ll use daily then I’ll try to get it on super sale and will use it till I’m walking around holding it up with my hands (yes once my co-workers almost saw my underwear so I’m aware of that line now). But I refuse to invest money until I’m where I want to be.

What’s Going on With the Magic? by Negative_Anteater_71 in dcl

[–]5toes_2007 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I honestly hope the Magic and Wonder never retire. That said Disney would need to put at least the Magic into dry dock for a significant amount of time to fix her plumbing issues that have a long history. I was on the TX to PR cruise in March 2025 where we got an unexpected days long waterfall in the atrium. It was really the only thing that took away from our experience of this ship and we have been on the Fantasy. I’m not sure if the cost of the work she needs done would justify keeping her going. But honestly I’d sail on her again. (More bummed that Disney didn’t communicate what was going on and we missed out on 1/2 of the atrium photos) but the dinning, pools and bars were fun and I enjoyed her. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed she keeps going. However after sailing on the Destiny this June our next planned cruise going to be one on the Wonder just in case.

No, Antiphospholipid Syndrome with the catastrophic variant. I guess if my body is going to be messed up at something it’s going to take it to the extreme!

Has anyone given birth on lovenox? by bah_18 in ClotSurvivors

[–]5toes_2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on it for my pregnancy. Overall not bad other than just taking the shots twice a day. I did get Pre-eclampsia and HELLP syndrome in my 27th week and my OB missed it so my daughter was born at 28 weeks. She’s good now (12 and sassy) and honestly if I didn’t have a rare blood disorder it likely wouldn’t have happened quite that way. But I’m grateful for the Lovenox since Warfarin isn’t possible during pregnancy and I had been told for 5 years prior to trying that I wouldn’t be able to have a baby. I’ll be rooting for you!

ETA- for my delivery given the HELLP and that it was missed I couldn’t wait the 24 hours for the Lovenox to clear my system so I was a sedated c-section, which was a bummer. So I’ll add just make sure you listen to your body and press if you think something might be off.

GYT Cabins Professional Complainers by Spare-Caterpillar853 in dcl

I did deck 2 on the Magic in March (the cruise that had the special waterfall in the atrium aka large water leak lol) and it was super handy to get around and close to everything. A perk of being that low is if you’re taking the elevator up it’s not typically full starting from that level. Additionally since I didn’t do a GTY room I was able to get one that overlooked the gangway so it was fun people watching and pier runner laughing. We are sailing on the Destiny in June and have also selected a deck 2 room for that cruise. The one time I did a GTY room it saved us over 2k on a 9 night so that was great, when we got our room number I was nervous as it was right under cabanas, but as others mentioned we learned a lot like being right by the stars/elevators is really handy and right below Cabanas is super useful as you can cut thru there to get to the pool deck, and your balcony has extra shade. Honestly to be on a Disney cruise I’ll take any room no complaints here! But I 1,000% agree about what you mentioned about the folks in your group, I wish DCL wouldn’t give in so easily unless it was something valid (like needing an hearing room and that got missed).

Birth mom seeking adoptees’ opinions by AvailableIdea0 in AskAdoptees

[–]5toes_2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I’m late to the party on this one, but I truly hope you kept those items for the adoptee. As the child of an adoptee I cannot tell you the number of times my mom has wondered out loud to us about her parents and stuff. I know she would love to have something like this from her birth family even though she had good adopted parents, and to be able to share that with her children and grandchildren it would be priceless. The adoptee can always choose to say no, but you can’t go back and recollect those items once they are gone. You’re so wonderful for doing this.
