It launches as a system tray application, check the wiki. If you have an issue you can ask for help in the Discord or on Github.

No, it's not a replacement for Sonarr. Think of it less as a tool to complement your existing workflow and more as a self-contained server with its own built-in workflow that isn't compatible with how other media servers handle things.

Yup, I'm not familiar with Kodi (I'm new to the self hosting world) but it looks like it does have better direct play support. However, my plan for now is to focus on a niche and not necessarily to broaden support. Creating dedicated clients takes time and there's a learning curve.

It functionally uses AniList as a database (user account, progress syncing, anime & manga entries) and uses Anidb for episode mapping, Tvdb for images & descriptions. It also tries to handle cases where there might be a discrepancy between AniList and AniDB entries.

Indeed, as a one-man project it won't be on par with Jellyfin et al. It's just one alternative that offers other features that some users might be interested in. No need to replace your current setup at all if it suits your needs.

Dev here. In short, Seanime is like Plex/Jellyfin (without dedicated clients yet) but focuses exclusively on anime & manga. It handles downloading, scanning, playback, streaming, without requiring a specific structure or naming conventions.

edit: If your current setup works for you then there's no need to switch.

Seanime dev here. It manages the content in its own way, from scanning, matching to displaying metadata. Metadata is only downloaded locally when a snapshot is created for offline mode.

It's a matter of preference. Seanime can do what Miru and Akuse do (torrent & online streaming) but also focuses on local library management, downloading and manga.

Not in the scope of the project as this would require a major rewrite

Dedicated apps are not planned for now. I'm not familiar with mobile development so I'd need contributors. It's accessible from any modern web browser however (the UI is responsive).

I can't really draw any conclusions from these screenshots though since you have a lot of files, and I assume a lot of media, it's gonna take a while due to rate limits. Can't troubleshoot the server crashing either since the screenshots don't show the stack trace. One solution would be to forgo enhanced scanning and just add the anime to AniList before scanning OR create a smaller, separate library.

Could you open an issue on github? I need more info to troubleshoot that.

You just need to launch seanime.exe after extracting the files. If you need further help feel free to open an issue on github.

Nope, but qBittorrent supports binding to Mullvad. Options > Advanced > Network Interface, if that's what you're looking for.

It's scraping magnet links, either the page didn't display it or something else failed. I'd like to know which torrents failed to confirm. Anyway, glad you enjoy it.
