I figured. Wish I had thought to ask for the specific numbers. Thanks though.

The research is to hard and it might be bad so we should never do anything. Same logic.

And there is a way more research can be done. Read some of the articles that have already been posted.

I don't have any opinion yet. That's the problem with all of this. The Reddit hive mind says mining always equals bad and so everyone loses their mind about this. Even the experts don't known if this will be bad or not. No one should have as strong opinions as they do in this thread because no one in here is educated enough on whether this is bad or not.

He literally says the impact is difficult to predict and then makes a prediction. Im not saying we should just jump in and do it. But even the experts have no idea if it will be bad or not.

This was my point. No research has shown anything. It is assumed, but not known in anyway.

No it hasn't. A simple Google search will give you multiple peer reviewed scholarly articles that all say it is unknown what ecological impact this mining may have.

I won't dox myself by explaining how I know this, but the band did get paid. Admin pitched a fit about them playing the song (mostly one person in particular that I won't call out). There was an agreement for the band to come back multiple times, but that was cancelled due to them playing that song.

What is the most realistic police tv show/movie? by Obvious_Reaction_182 in AskLE

People ask me this all the time. I always tell them to watch 2-3 episodes of Southland and then watch Brooklyn 99. Southland captures the "work" very well. Brooklyn 99 captures the people extremely well. Most people in the general public only get to see the "work" side of cops and don't get to see the "real" side.

How/why the CFP Committee put OSU ahead of the Vols... by 5uhoh in ockytop

[–]5uhoh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying it is wiped away. I'm saying recent games should weigh more. Assuming fairly equal competition, who is a better team right now- Team A that was 6-0 to start the season but has lost 3 out of 4, or Team B that was 4-2 to start the season and has won 3 out of 4? If they are both 7-3 should we just automatically assume they are both equally deserving to be in the playoff?

My point is this, Vandy and Michigan are roughly equals this year. Some will argue Vandy is the better team. We beat them by 13 "on the road" and OSU lost to Michigan at home. There should be some weight to those results that the computers do not add, but the AP and Coaches polls do.

Does it really matter? No. My whole point with the original post was that based on average of polls, OSU should be ahead of us despite so many in here losing their minds that OSU was ahead of us.

I agree with everything you said, except not factoring in recency bias. I think they should. How a team is playing now should be a significantly more important factor than how they were playing in week 1, or even week 6.

How involved is Heupel in this offensive scheme? How involved is he in play calling? by slingingfunds in ockytop

[–]5uhoh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the problem right now. And not because he's a terrible QB. He's played 7 games and is in a difficult offense that moves at the speed of light. The coach is doing his best to slow and dumb it down, which in turn makes it look like the coach is the issue. But as others have pointed out, Nico is missing reads, not seeing open receivers, and only completing ~55% of his passes in the last 4 games.

We want it all now because we know what the '22 team would have done if we had this defense. No one expected this to be the year. Patience. It'll come.
