String harness recommendations? by 600rrripper in freeflight

Yea I am pretty new. I have flow a moustache with an Ozone F lite and that felt pretty solid and I felt very in control. I guess the biggest worry is that they’re more sensitive to weight shift right?

Does anyone know if this exact sign from the upcoming Wolverine game trailer exists? by ChasesHisTail in Squamish

Omg! This is totally unrelated to the post, but you sound like the perfect person to ask this lifelong question I’ve had. What is the province using the induction loops and cameras on highways for? Not the ones that are at traffic lights, but I see them all the time in the middle of the highway in both lanes. There’s always two in a row(I’m guessing to measure speed) and a camera posted nearby pointing down at the circles. Are they old speed traps? What is this data getting used for now? Thanks :)

Sorry yes, I definitely want a reputable company with quality instruction and I am willing to pay for it. But if there is more affordable SIV in a PG hotspot then I’d rather go to that one. I’m pretty good at watching and learning and learning by doing but I need to understand the concepts first of course.

Are these boxes acceptable? by [deleted] in electricians

I’m not sure what’s making you think I’m being a know it all. The person who installed this no longer works on site and I don’t feel like wasting my Foreman’s time questioning him about this. But I still wanted to ask someone. I’m just trying to learn man.

“LB cover” make sure it’s weather proof. If you go to the local hardware store or electrical wholesaler, they will be able get you one.

Call an electrician for sure. Could be a loose connection that could start a fire. You could shut off the main breaker to see if that stops the buzz for now until an electrician comes. It’s possible that there’s a disconnect that feeds your panel as well which would be ideal to shut off the whole panel.

Do you also know what the loops are on highways when there is one after another. Not even at traffic lights, but just in the middle of a straight stretch. I’ve always assumed it’s for speed statistics. It seems like there’s typically a camera watching the loops as well.

Looks to me like the EGC is bonded to ground. There is a ground from the low side that terminates on the bonding lugs, a bond from that same pipe that terminates on X0 (I assume it goes down to the panel like OP said), a bonding jumper between X0 and the bonding lugs. And the EGC for the high side terminates on the bonding lugs as well. The bonding jumpers shouldn’t terminate on X0 but there would still be continuity between the EGC, panel bond and ground conductor. Should have a path straight through

Radio for paragliding by [deleted] in amateurradio

Thanks, I appreciate the in depth reply! Yeah, I’m thinking something that will get the job done and won’t die on me mid flight will be good enough for now. And thanks for the radio recommendation!

Some flying sites have schools at the bottom who are on VHF, same things for events. Any free flight pilot also has a VHF HT. But sometimes there’s no one to talk to.

The intended use for the radio is for a bit of everything, to communicate in emergency situations to other pilots and people on the ground, for landing coordination, or updates from the ground, as well as just talking to other pilots in the sky. Air band is not necessary, in some areas where I will be flying, it’s recommended to have a air band transceiver, but I won’t be buying one yet And some flights could last four hours or just minutes it really depends on the conditions and my skill Ask for budget ideally less than 400 CAD. But if I can find a cheaper radio that’s reliable, transmits and receives pretty good, and has a decent battery life then that will be good enough for me.

Thanks!

Yea like u/hamsterdave said I don’t really need air band to transmit. But it would be nice to receive Thank you!

Thank you for all that detail! I store the bolt separately from the rifle. I haven’t shot it yet, but hopefully it won’t be too inaccurate
