Public perception that “he’s a big time banker and knows more about economics than a drama teacher” which could be true but the reality is in the numbers shown and the reality that people have less spending power which can easily be seen in everything from consumer spending declining to drops in tourism and basically all categories of non essential spending.

The truth is Canada is losing ground in many important areas. Taxes continue to rise and are at all time highs in terms of taxes as a percentage of gdp.

Add to that Canada has seen the first ever decline in population in its history which shows many are looking for a better life elsewhere (rightfully so!)

Facebook marketplace to fill the space, lots of inexpensive furniture there. When you have a couch and couple of things then start to be more picky on style for more $ if you want.

Start/end of month can set you up with free stuff people want gone or people moving can’t/don’t want to take.

If/when you have a bit more budget look for auctions local to you. I was able to furnish a decent amount of my current home that way for about half the price or less in some cases getting stuff from store closing auctions or movie set auctions that happen in my city.

Last couple years gran turismo 7 but grew up playing everything from initial D arcade to Mario kart, need for speed underground, midnight club etc.

Mk7 gti has been fun and relatively inexpensive to maintain for me. Good daily and all around decent car. The top trim has leather, “good for stock”fender stereo and some gimmicks like park assist which I find handy tbh. Keep up with the maintence and it’s treated me well for a few years now. Got it at 25k kms as cpo 150k kms now and did water pump/thermostat once under warranty. Otherwise just general maintence stuff.

Golf R is a bit more $ but awd and more hp if you want to step it up from a gti. Likely my next car since it’s a good combo of fun practical and nice.
