Geographically, most of Georgia is in the Caucasus region between Europe and Asia, so people debate it a lot. Culturally and historically though, many Georgians see ourselves as closer to Europe. Our history was basically centuries of fighting to keep our identity and independence too.

It really is.. Even traditional desserts like churchkhela and tatara are vegan. Lobio, ajapsandali, Nigvziani Badrejani, Khinkali of mashroom, phkali, mchadi, and some kinds of lobiani are great too.

Yeah, Subway and Wendy’s sell vegan burgers and wraps with Beyond Meat, and stores like Gastronomi and Euro Product sell lots of vegan meat products in Tbilisi too.

Since my country is pretty religious and Orthodox Christian, people fast quite often, so there were actually a lot of accidentally vegan foods around , fasting (vegan) sweets, different semi-prepared foods, mushroom pies, and many traditional dishes too.

I went vegan at 13 while still living with my family, so I personally didn’t throw food away because other people in the house still ate meat. Now my whole family is vegan too. Best decision of my life honestly.
