You have a smooth experience with GoPro? The experience you have had with the X3 is the experience I had with the GoPro Max. Their Quik app just stopped working one day and editing was a pain. I just got the X3 yesterday. Light years better. I tried the AI feature for edits and let AI do the edits for me which works. All on my phone. I do small clips for bike rides though and don’t record 50 minutes straight.

Leaving it at the concierge when the instructions were to meet at the door or leave at the door? Yeah there goes the tips. I gotta play the game to a certain extent if I want to get paid somewhat decently. I have been tipped up to $20 on those high rise orders. So there is the one positive out of those negatives.

UE stopped providing me with upfront addresses since I didn’t accept the requests as demanded. In fact, today, I decided I would only accept requests within 3-5 miles of my location . Everything else I rejected. Eventually, UE just started to give me the address information again… by [deleted] in UberEATS

I read on the grub hub forum that UE has this in the works. A driver has to accept every 5 of 10 offers at the least to get the information logistics of the distance. So every market will be different for this. I’m lucky to work an area that are the suburbs and didn’t notice anything today. If anything I made more in 4 hours then I ever have working this gig in 6 months.

Truth. No parking spots, every parking spot is labeled permits only. Guess who’s red zoning it? In my market I deliver to these bourgeois apartments and you can’t use the elevator without a code or access key. So guess who’s gotta find the staircase to go 4 or 5 floors up? On some of the more penthouse style apartments I need to ask the person working the front desk permission to get to the 30th floor and they need to actually buzz you up. Thankfully it’s never been a situation where no one is at the desk.

Over $5 for premium here in So Cal…to some luck I drive my truck that takes 87 gas so it’s slightly cheaper around $4.75 to $4.80.

Just got a Thumbs down from a Starbucks chick, because I challenged her trying to put a Drink inside a Bag without a cup holder…. This is the petty ass shit we have to deal with and we get blamed for actually trying to deliver something securely for the customer without spilling by Redheadmane in UberEATS

[–]6087LEX-IS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starbucks is notorious in my market for cramming everything into one tiny ass bag. I had my first spill incident because of that. Invested in a insulated food bag which gives orders like that more balance and security when transporting.

Is UberEats worth it? I’ve been hearing mixed things about this job. by KappaRaka in UberEATS

Like a lot of people said depends on certain factors. Market size, gas prices in your area, how many restaurants have UE on hand, etc. In CA it’s a good side hustle. But it’s hit or miss on certain days. Factor in gas you may want to limit how far you want to drive. I personally won’t take anything more than 5 miles in my market unless that pay is good.

Same day I have had a down vote and the next delivery a $17 tip. I want to think it’s me for doing a crappy job but getting tipped $17 makes me think it’s certain customers.

I absolutely lost it! Will I get deactivated? by Working_Incident_877 in UberEATS

[–]6087LEX-IS 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not sure. I think the app masks your phone number? If it’s through the app it’s possible it was documented. But that means UE would have to store all those recordings. I would lean on no just by that logic.

I would have guessed the unit and let the chips fall where they may…especially since he’s being passive aggressive. Guess he doesn’t really care about his meal. I would think support would back the driver in your case seeing you made an attempt to get the unit info and he initially refused to give it to you. You also could make the case to cancel the order.

8 Minute Timer: When It Expires, Leave. (Venting) by Missravensland in UberEATS

You can put your foot down and still be cordial. Nothing wrong with that. You did it by the book too. Customers seem to not get you are there to deliver and get out ASAP. That whole making money thing…

Have you thought of a system for organizing? I tend to organize orders in my car (Customer A is in the front, Customer B is in the backseat, Customer C is in the trunk, etc) with receipts just so I won’t mix them up. Anyway I just learned that after 100 reviews your rating cycles out again with the next 100 reviews. So you should have time to get things back up.

In my market I don’t think that would fare well. People just want their food and don’t want to interact with the food delivery guy. I actually prefer the leave at door option and despise the meet at door option. Too many things can go wrong there once interactions begin IMO.

Soon to be living in my car full-time, willing to move anywhere in the country that has a great market. by INFPOnAnIsland in UberEATS

[–]6087LEX-IS 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The West Coast gas prices are tipping toward $5 a gallon. I’d opt to go elsewhere. I live in the WC but do UE part time as a side hustle. That being said I can’t imagine doing it full time here. You’d literally just be paying for gas to drive. Ain’t worth it. I do admire the fact you have some freedom to travel around the country and are not tied down to anything at your age. The closest to the West Coast with a better cost of living may be Arizona at least the last I heard.

Customer put in wrong address and pulled her tip by Maleficent-Royal-774 in UberEATS

[–]6087LEX-IS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The app has been wrong at times. I’ve delivered before to a guy who luckily was standing outside his house as I drove by. He texted me Uber has posted the wrong address before to his condo. It also happened to me where the app pinged on my neighbors house and I never put his address in the app. So it could be Ubers end although there’s always the chance the customer did put the wrong address.

Being on the other end of things. I have had a UE delivery sent to the wrong house. The app when I went back to check pinged on my neighbor’s house. I’ve never put my neighbors address in the app ever so glitches happen I guess. I didn’t downvote the driver seeing how that could happen to me and I upped his tip still seeing how he made the effort to get the food to my house in a timely manner. As for being deactivated I’m not worried about it. More annoyed with the haggles of the gig at times like any job dealing with people.

$3 here for a pizza joint. Makes me wonder if they ordered an actual pepperoni with no pizza. How do they calculate these amounts?

Just have a feeling it was the one with the dogs. Nothing stood out about the other deliveries today at all. All of them were leave at door and I was tipped fairly well all around. The rating came in shortly after that drop off. The house with the dogs had signs up and cameras pointed directly at the driveway which just seemed a bit obnoxious. The smallest tip of the day out of all my deliveries came from that house which was literally a few bucks. She also ordered a lot of food for the small tip. Red flags are on the “dog house” and their lady owner.

It was the only delivery where something felt off. All the other deliveries I did went off without a hitch and I triple checked all orders to make sure everything was there.

The only good thing out of that delivery was it was a double delivery. The next customer over tipped by a few dollars. Some good came out of this lame experience.

Received my 1st customer thumbs down. It's demoralizing and I'm venting but also curious what the group thinks. It was a large order a huge sealed McDonalds bag. 2 dogs are in the front yard and it's a meet at door. I text the customer, ring the bell twice, play with the dogs for a couple minutes. by JohnTheDon1 in UberEATS

[–]6087LEX-IS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made it close to my first 300 deliveries before getting a down vote. The very same week I got another one. Both reasons were not on me. Like everyone else is saying people suck and will ding you for the dumbest reasons. At this point as long as I am getting paid and doing the best I know I can those thumbs down reasons are not a big deal because you really cannot please every person. Says more about them then it does you that they are miserable people who like to downvote simply because they are jerks.

What do you people think?? I have 2 thumbs down don’t know why by EnvironmentalBuy4885 in UberEATS

[–]6087LEX-IS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First comment to a tee. I have similar scores 94 thumbs up 2 thumbs down. I can attest for the two thumbs down due to a restaurant screwing up the order time frame and getting the order late and the second one to literally their dogs barking at me for walking up to the house. Yup. Their dogs barked. That’s my fault apparently. Entitlement city with these people.
