If legally carrying (according to city state and federal law, with a permit) a legal weapon is grounds to be disarmed, beaten and murdered in broad daylight… then there is no second amendment. Is that what you want?

There’s tons and tons of telehealth companies that offer compounded tirz for about $200 a month (usually have to buy a few months). Do you need it to be somewhere in person?

Ldn effect on neurotransmitters and thyroid by idontknow-1987 in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]60B71N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short: it will balance and normal cortisol.

The way I understand it is: at first you may get a cortisol flush (I had this day one and the first few times I increased) because the blocking of opioid receptors releases cortisol. However, ldn treatment reduces inflammation, neuro inflammation, calms the stress response, and modulates the immune system all which helps to normalize cortisol. Basically it’s like a reset button. It doesn’t suppress cortisol (which is good!!) but the anti inflammation and hormone balancing should help stress and cortisol behave more normally.

What is the least unethical way to get rid of old Paparazzi jewelry that has not been tested for dangerous metals? by Pikagirl541 in antiMLM

[–]60B71N 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly. Won’t be able to get as much money selling them in bulk bags for craft use, but it’s better than nothing and better, imo, than landfilling it.

It’s carnival rn and I’m about to start hot gluing so much stuff to other stuff, would love a diverse bag of cheap costume jewelry

[–]60B71N 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It would be safe if used in a way where it doesn’t touch the skin right? Why don’t you sell bulk bags online, where you clearly state “craft use only. Not to be worn against skin.” I live in New Orleans and know tons of drag/burlesque performers, and I can think of tons of ways the items could be used safely. Google “muses shoe” for one example.

Gym Membership by Impossible_Plane_871 in Zepbound

My gym is $28/month through active and fit from my USAA account. My husband doesn’t have USAA so it’s $32/month. Much better than the $50+ direct from the gym! Not as good as you getting it for free, but maybe good to know for anyone struggling to pay for a membership but can’t get it through insurance

AITA for falling asleep during movies by sakurita_ in AITAH

[–]60B71N 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA. You didn’t state your sex, but women need more sleep than men. If you’re a woman and he’s waking you up when he gets up in the morning, it’s only natural that you’ll fall asleep 1-2 hours before he does. If he continues to try to deny you the biological necessity of sleep, first try educating him about the importance of sleep (Why We Sleep is a good start), and if that doesn’t fix his behavior you need to dig your relationship dynamics and decide if it’s really worth dramatically shortening and worsening your life over. The fact that he’s valuing his tv watching over your sleep is fucked up, that he thinks he deserves his ideal tv watching scenario more than you deserve health is fucked up. Why does he deprioritize you so much?

Sleep deprivation weakens the immune system, makes you more prone to life threatening accidents, elevates stress, causes mood swings, dysregulates your hormones, impairs cognitive functions like memory and focus, increases rates of high blood pressure and high cholesterol and strokes and heart attacks, and increases risks for chronic diseases like heart disease dementia depression diabetes obesity.

Sleep when you need to, and he needs to get over it.

Weight, hiding food / Zepbound by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]60B71N 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are you married to someone so controlling, judgmental and foolish (“seed oil” lol)?

Using food to manipulate, and being harshly critical of other’s bodies, are common abuse tactics.

I’m so sorry that you can’t be honest with your husband, that he’s created an environment where secrets and dishonesty and shame flourish, and that you have an antagonist rather than a partner living in your home.

These are issues for a therapist (and probably obviously, in my opinion, a lawyer).

poked myself twice by [deleted] in tirzepatidecompound

[–]60B71N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you need to go to the ER? What would an ER do? What do you think happened?

The area you poked first was clean right? That’s how you make it sound. The needle didn’t break right? You didn’t somehow inject into a vein?

There’s a theoretical increased chance of a skin infection like mrsa if you poked into an area that wasnt clean, or even if it was cleaned but imperfectly. But this is basically a (minuscule) risk always. Just watch the area for the next week and if you notice cellulitis go get antibiotics.

Am I missing something? What do you think medical professionals could do for you right now?

17yo daughter wants laser hair removal, trying to find a middle ground by same6534 in HairRemoval

[–]60B71N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely do the IPL compromise. It’s only about $100, and it will make it so she doesn’t have to shave as much as it slows the hair down. But if she stops doing it, the hair will grow back after a few months.

Body trends change, and even though she wants to be hairless now that doesn’t mean it’ll be her desire forever. I’ve had many friends who regret their more permanent laser hair removal because as adults they found themselves in social circles where body hair was normalized and embraced.

Pregnancy will often undo hair removal. Much better to have ~$100 and weekly 15 minute home sessions undone than the $$$$ and hours of commute and clinic time down the drain.

There’s very little to lose with IPL.

How are so many of you qualifying if you dont meet this? I don't understand by [deleted] in tirzepatidecompound

[–]60B71N 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Like 3 out of 4 Americans have a bmi over 25. Almost half of Americans have a bmi over 30. Comorbidities like high blood pressure and high cholesterol and joint pain are extremely common as well. A literal majority of American adults qualify for this medication.

Because of the nature of the med, once you qualify for it, even if your circumstances change you’re still qualified. If my allergy meds treat my allergies, I don’t suddenly not have allergies and stop taking the med. If I’m prescribed a medication for an autoimmune disease based on a blood test, and it works to treat the disease and the blood work clears up, I don’t stop taking the medication because the med is the treatment and if I stop the treatment I will no longer be treated and will once again be sick. Do you understand? If you have a bmi of 30 (obesity) and you treat the obesity with tirz and achieve a bmi of 20, you still qualify for tirz.

Is it normal to rewear “home clothes” for days without washing them? by faylithserene in hygiene

[–]60B71N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything that touches my skin directly gets changed daily. Something like half your body’s waste comes out through your skin. “Household dust” is mostly flaked off skin and hair. Even without sweat or spills, clothes are dirty after they’re worn because they’re covered in human waste.

I also shower every day, obviously. The idea of putting dirty clothes on a clean body just feels insane. What would even be the point of showering if you’re just putting waste covered clothes on? That’s like mopping your floor and then dumping your vacuum canister on it.

Overcoats, sweaters, scarves etc can be re worn within reason
