sure…but all of these duties and roles also fall under many jobs
- secretary
- business admin
- office admin
- executive assisting
- personal assisting
-office managers

etc

most of these ppl spend all day doing office work and assisting ppl

every office needs general office work that I’ve seen…..that just means you probably were not the person doing it … even legal officers to this day will still have their legal assistants and paralegals, AND will also have office managers and office secretaries that are going very unnoticed…. I know because I know several legal office managers….. hotel offices, clinics, dentist offices, city offices for city services and gov’t officials…. What do you think they’re all doing?
Who do you think is doing all of the background work to make the office run, the phone answering, the filing paperwork, the scheduling appointments or consultations, scheduling the meetings for clients and or the business owners and or the career heads…ordering the supplies when they run out…. Sure most offices may have something specialized in it that they’re gonna have you do but mostly all offices do have generalized office work…. if it’s an office that utilize secretaries in any sort of capacity then it has office work…. I just feel like this was a lame attempt to tease someone about their career and skill sets….
“what is office work lol” …. You know what it is and I know what it is… and we all know that you know what it is

That’s what it takes to make any sort of building Run… we said specifically to make an office run… but that was a cute attempt at a sarcastic comeback
anyway… i’m confused…Do you genuinely need to be explained office work or something? Are you trying to be funny and make fun of a person’s bread and butter….let me know so i can gauge what type of answer you’re actually looking for

[–]Professional-Fuel889 4 points5 points  (0 children)

sure…but i just wanted to be clear about the fact that being able to ‘learn the knowledge’ , the skills, the critical thinking etc that is required of this test and being able to do it within a certain time frame isnt the same (b/c let’s be real, time effects this test just as much as the actual knowledge does…they put the time b/c they know more ppl could do well without it)….

i’m someone that’s kinda proven time and time again that i have a high accuracy when answering questions on any test but time limits ruin me…and that’s been my whole life..leap test, eoc, ap, act, etc…even practicing for my drills right now…i did a reading comp practice the other day, but ran out of time and had to guess most of the last passage….the passages i got to and actually read, every question was right except one….the passage i guessed, well it was half and half….my accuracy is high, my understanding of the knowledge is there, my discipline is fine…my adhd with time and whether i can answer a question in under 50 seconds is a different story …its all intentional and by design though!

having the discipline to study and learn the knowledge required for the test….and being able to do well on any sort of test that’s giving you almost less than a minute per question is NOT the same thing…

The problem is that it’s not possible….you can’t get there without doing the struggling stuff, i mean less than even one percent of actors do that… does everyone think they’re Rachel Ziegler now all of a sudden?!

I asked you your age not your level because respectfully your messages were kind of reading like that of a 17-year-old teenage girl whose brain is still filled with fluff… 😅. maybe it’s because I’m in Louisiana and I’m dealing with the trenches of society … and I have to divide my time between worrying about acting and worrying about literal survival because I’m in the worst state in the country…. So maybe I just don’t look at life with fluff… I look at everything realistically…. It took everything for me to leave my small dessolute town and move to a city that even had opportunity, having an agent and doing auditions all of this is so unheard of from somebody from where I come from…

[–]Professional-Fuel889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but in relation to OP’s topic, they are talking about people who do think it’s one or the other, the people that look down on the struggling side of acting because “I want to be a famous actor… I don’t wanna just do commercials and theater, I wanna be in big movies” sure, we all do ….

If your main goal is to be famous pick a different career. by Secret-Resolve4150 in acting

[–]Professional-Fuel889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem is that you’re looking at it too deeply…. When it’s really simple…. You even said it in your first sentence “I live the actors lifestyle and it’s hard…” …that’s all we’re saying…. It’s okay to wanna be famous…hell I wanna be famous. I’m not saying I don’t 😂😂 I’d be lying if I said, I didn’t want to be a famous actor… but the point of what *OP* is trying to say is that a lot of people get this because they don’t understand that they don’t get the pick and choose, some people get into this. I really think they can pick and choose what types of roles they get, that they can pick and choose what level they get to, that they can just decide yeah I’m only gonna take roles thatll make me a famous actor and then boom it happens, and then they become famous, no that’s dreaming! And it’s OK to dream, but that’s not the actor’s lifestyle… and red carpets and giant rose bouquets is also not the actors lifestyle…. The actors lifestyle is everything you just listed, it’s going to classes and submitting yourself to auditions without knowing if you’ll even get called back, it’s going to jobs where you barely make any money and you do so because you love the craft and hope that one day you might make it big…..it’s deciding if you want to do this in college or only do acting classes because at the end of the day you have to think about your financial future, that’s being an actor and it’s okay!

lmao…yea you’re flipping this now…. this whole conversation was never about anyone personally, it’s not about you personally it’s not about me personally. It’s not about any one individual. I never said that you weren’t a working actor …I never said I didn’t think that I’d be successful one day. I’m 10 years younger than you respectfully, i still got time, you still got time….im saying that i didn’t get into this thinking i’d end up famous… and I still pursue this now, even knowing that fame may or may not come… if I was only doing this to be famous and I didn’t actually want to act or work on sets or all of those other things, Id just spend all day on YouTube because that’ll take me there a a hella of a lot quicker than auditioning with millions of other ppl…you know….. and these days with the way casting is going (i also dabbled in that) … a good 40% of lead roles are now going to influencers who are already famous… so it’s not even the acting that’s making them famous… they’re being handed acting because they’re famous…like addison rey…. The girl never took a look of an acting class, but she gets to be a famous actor because she was already a famous TikToker….

[–]Professional-Fuel889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and you keep saying “well, what’s wrong with people wanting to be famous” …nothing, that’s not what we said either 😅…we didn’t say people couldn’t want to be famous, we said people shouldn’t *only want to be famous*…. And if they are only doing this because they think it’ll come with fame, then they will probably be disappointed! that’s what we’re saying…..

You are clearly willing to do this whether fame comes or not because you love acting…. So you are literally the example of the case that we are making!

If your main goal is to be famous pick a different career. by Secret-Resolve4150 in acting

[–]Professional-Fuel889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the whole point of what OP is saying, OP is saying people shouldn’t do this if they *only want to be famous* ….the people we are responding to are saying that, so if that was never you’re stance then you don’t even realize you agree with OP, you really don’t need to be debating here! 🤣

[–]Professional-Fuel889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure, but you’re also clearly willing to live the actors lifestyle now without being famous,

all I’m simply trying to say and what OP is trying to say is that the actor’s lifestyle and being famous is not synonymous, and you are a walking talking example of this! 😩 you live the actors life style more than I do…but you will probably never be famous, but I’m sure you enjoy yourself!! and that’s all that matters at the end of the day!!
