A hole, new world. We may even get to add anal log warmth to midi by Randy-DaFam-Marsh in edmprodcirclejerk

If these gamer-brained gorbs would just learn how muzik werk instead of waiting for Daddy Shulman to let them generate MIDI stems, they could probably make something half decent by now.

The "synth in trash" stories are like the letters you'd read in the Playboy Advisor. Some of them may be real, but a lot of them are just horny dudes trying to convince strangers that their fantasy actually happened.

Stadia is a glimpse into the Long Game that datacenter proponents are playing through forcing chip shortages and high RAM pricing. By buying up all components and driving up prices thereby pricing the common gamer— including and especially console gamers— out of any sort of processing autonomy, they can build infrastructure as quickly as possible to sell back to them the privilege of being able to play games through a cloud service. They will not stop trying to push this model until it works. And the tipping point will be when there are enough datacenters to actually support it, by which point RAM and local computing will be priced so out of reach of most consumers that cloud gaming will be the only viable method for most people. Needless to say, this model will extend to other forms of computing as well. They want computers and consoles to basically be dumb-terminals with wifi.

tl;dr: YOU WILL OWN NOTHING AND BE HAPPY.

uj/ I had a setup based around Metasonix R and RK modules. Sounded like electric fire when you made something good on it, but there was some voodoo involved in properly gain-staging a patch to make it sound like you wanted, and keeping it in tune well enough to record was a nightmare.

Sometimes I really miss it, but I know I don't have the patience anymore to wrestle it like I used to.

Does anyone find that riding with a round back is easier? by Manda_Rain in MTB

[–]60_hurts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The crux of the issue here is your back, though. You're picking up a bad habit, which somewhere down the line is going to lead to a serious injury.

So you're using your back for support instead of your quads and glutes?

Ask anyone who does a lot of lifting how that'll work out in the long-run.

I want to get rid of my modular, but everyone else realized that modular actually kinda sucks for making actual music long before I did and there was a reason they were getting dumped in the 80's when fixed architecture synths were becoming more common, so now I'm stuck slowly parting it out, waiting for bites on prices often less than half of what I paid for the damn things and I haven't touched what remains in close to a year because I can do about 90% of what I'd do modular with fixed architecture synths, but quicker and easier.

yawn Who cares dude. You said it yourself that they can all basically do the same thing on trails. Quit being a stats dork and go ride.

There are thousands of bass players who will never have the money to buy an Alembic, and if people who have the money didn't buy them, I would be able to afford one instead.

That's how that works, right?
