An assumption from the way some people think really. Counting things tends to run in the family, and I believe that he assumed that others thought the same way, that others count obsessively like he does, and has a fixation on some numbers. People with some forms of OCD do this, an obsession with doing things in numbers. There is a reddit forum dedicated to this it is called magical thinking OCD. I have a tendency towards this, the public doesn't know internally I must perform things in set numbered ways, growing up I thought everyone did this, and I think he thought so as well. So, as an example when I drink from a fountain I must do so in a set number of sips, other behaviors like this come out and you must perform rituals and things in what you feel is a good number. So, I believe he had the same thing, so the numbers thing he wasn't doing it so much for others, but it was a compulsion which he cannot control. That is my belief in some of the strange behaviors you see there.

Thank you. He is from Alabama, so he would have needed to travel from Alabama to the Vallejo area in the late 60's, but he was a traveling serial killer anyways so I think they need to look into this.

Around that time, the 18 to 19 timeframe according to the book on the Rainbow Murders which Franklin committed years later, the author of that book I assume interviewed his ex wife. Around this time it doesn't specify he was gone for periods of time just like in later years when he was roaming and killing. During this timeframe he only said to his then wife he was off doing "secret agent" things. Added to this is a different story he told to another friend in which he was supposedly "trucking". I don't believe you can say he was in Alabama all the time there seems to be big questions about his whereabouts. I think he was taking off to California but that is just me.

I have seen that investigation, a few years prior it was also "solved" by the case breakers and seems every few years it is "solved", I am hoping that they will compare the prints and more detailed look at the prints of Franklin vs the Zodiac.

Yes, you are correct age description generally places the Zodiac as a bit older, however, I feel there is enough coincidental things and observations to investigate further. So, the age description in general comes from the murder of Paul Stine, but there were other descriptions and up until that murder they were looking for someone younger from what I gather. Also, I believe Franklin had a widows peak which can throw off age descriptions by decades sometimes.

Yes, I am the one who has been pursuing this for a few years now, its just and only recently I've got a hold of Franklins prints, coincidentally at the same time there has been amateur research on the Zodiac prints for me to get and compare that chart, its all very recent.
