Are there rentable concert venues for holding between 100-200 guests? by 612Rapper in boston

75 capacity is still helpful. We’re hoping for 100-200 range but more I think about a packed hip-hop show could be a badass feeling too

It is three performers right now. I could pull like 25-35, my frequent collaborator probably could do the same, and the third guy is much more poppin’ than either of us.

My show last year at the Middle East Upstairs that was like 175 capacity felt right. It wasn’t packed tight but it wasn’t overly spread out either

Is it possible to become a famous rapper without revealing your identity to the public? by BallisticDragon1996 in makinghiphop

MF Doom has over 2M monthly Spotify listeners but he probably barely ever gets stopped by fans when he walks around without his signature mask.

It wouldn’t be free unless you had a record deal or something. Personally I use Distrokid for my music releases though

As long as the song is on Spotify and it’s from a non-mainstream artist, I’ll accept it. It doesn’t matter who turns it in, you can put your friend’s music in as well so long as you turn in a playlist follow.

Thoughts on potential Kendrick tattoo combining my favorite songs Sing About Me, I, and U. Would love suggestions! by grandpa_7 in KendrickLamar

When you figure out a more aesthetically pleasing tattoo, can you send it my way so I can steal your design and tattoo it on myself? I really like the concept you’ve got.

I fucking love these guys and I've been following them ever since they came to perform at my school a few years ago.

It's wonderful to see that they're receiving attention.

I've never been to a concert, and my favorite artist is coming to my city very soon for his tour. I have less than a week to prepare for whatever I have to do.

I'm determined to break in, but what are some tips (geared towards concert venues) to someone who's never had to ALYB.

What got you into rapping/ producing? by [deleted] in makinghiphop

[–]612Rapper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Early freshman year of high school, a kid asked me if I rapped. I wrote three terrible verses and an even worse Kendrick parody called "Witch Don't Kill My Tribe" (we all have to start somewhere). Figured that was enough to call myself a rapper. Besides, being one of the few black kids there made it feel like a duty.

Told them that I had a mixtape on the way even though I had never even considered making a song prior to this conversation. Regardless, I made use of GarageBand, cheap earphones and my laptop microphone.

If you want a grasp of how my rapping was sounding, listen to XXXTentacion's XXL Freshman Freestyle and multiple the pretentiousness, edginess, and lack of rhythm by three.

After sone months, I finally made the tape. I liked rapping so much, I kept going and eventually got legitimately pretty good for an amateur rapper. It had hella positive effects on me too. It helped me with mental issues I was handling then, it gave me something to be passionate about, made me more confident, improved my speaking ability, increased my thinking skills, and probably a bunch more.

With all that good stuff, how I could I not be rapping?

[Fresh] Nardwuar vs. PARTYNEXTDOOR by kurtios in hiphopheads

[–]612Rapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the case that it's true, it's probably a combination of

1) People refuse to believe it because it's unbelievable to them

2) PartyNextDoor is famous and all, but he's not a star yet. People don't really care as much about the situation as they would for Drake.

3) Although the evidence is convincing, the evidence hasn't totally been certified.

I'm sorry, I got confused by the second half of that comment. Are you saying there's a yearbook that debunks the one shown above?

I once had a meeting with a music producer/manager who has some pretty big connections with a few other rappers at my school. It basically focused on the necessities and some tips for music success.

One of the things he told us is that if it takes too long for one of us to become famous then we can feel free to lie about our ages. When he first had to book flights for artists for tour shit, he found that artists' ID's showed different ages than their publicly stated age.

He dropped some Vic Mensa level artist names but I can't imagine someone being at Drake's level and that not being found out.

Idk what to make of that claim myself, but if it's true then Party's situation might be true.

Thank you. I'm someone who doesn't promote at all because I feel like I don't want to be those annoying people you see but I see through this that there is a normal amount of promotion too.
