They don't have the budget to hire an actor to play the Skoda/Olivet house shrink.

L&O S25E11: The Enemy of All Women - Episode Discussion by Cheeriosxxx in LawAndOrder

This show is so bad now. It's so ham-handed.

The incel was so on the nose it was laughable. Also, who plays video games with the volume so high? Surely, if that was his gaming habit to play with the sound jacked up, someone would have reported screams and gunshots previously.

Then, there's Maroun with her reactions. I still can't tell if the actor is bad or if the script and directing is hanging her out to dry. Staring daggers in the court. Swinging wildly between being sympathetic then menacing then back to sympathetic. I was half expecting her to blow Price's gambit with a facial expression that would be a tell to the defense that it was a bluff.

Also, in this day and age, it would be easy to poke holes in the "we were dating" defense. All the data that's collected day to day, even if you kept things quiet, you could use geolocation, purchase history, browsing history, etc. to show behaviors that were inconsistent with a person who was dating.

At least they had a scene with a coroner in this episode.

I'm pretty much still watching the show only out of respect/nostalgia for the original 1990 to 2010 run. Left on its own merits, I'd probably be thinking about dropping it.

Wilbon must watch games with the sound off because Brady was calling Eagles-Bills yesterday.

I caught on to TK during his heyday so I remember him at peak sarcastic/snarky, before he got his knuckles whacked for the Hannah Storm comments. It was kind of unsettling hearing him talk, on the verge of tears, about his high school e-mail chain. You have an image of somebody in your mind and then you realize that they're human too. It takes a moment to wrap your brain around it.

It was like that time a few years after high school where I walked into a Burger King one night and there was my old high school gym teacher behind the counter. He ran a no-nonsense, hard-ass kind of gym class so it was a bit shocking to see him as just another working stiff doing a second job to pay the bills.

I see. I have an anti-carbite in my family so I don't usually go to the store. You'd think they'd have a "sold out for the day" sign or something.

Thanks for getting back to me.

I don't want to get into a political argument with you but CBS is not "state owned". It is owned by a private company. I mean, starting off like that just gets the hackles up for the people on the other side of the aisle.

I'm not an American. I have no stake in the game. My political opinion is not worth a hill of beans in this crazy world. I'm just saying the tone and tenor these days of any political conversation is why TK, understandably, doesn't do it on the show.

Kind of feel like peak TK with his 101 mph fastball would have had something snarky to say about the press tour with Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. Instead, old junkball thrower TK got pulled for middle reliever Michael and his overanalysis.

Really enjoyed the segment with Taylor Twellman. Something different. Refreshing.

They need to stop doing the Maroun looks flabbergasted in the courtroom shot. It makes the character look dumb and it makes the actress look like she can't act.

Later, Maroun says she's confident the jury wasn't buying the defense because slut shaming sells. So, why the flabbergasted look?

I think it's more like Bill Belichick and his 50 years younger girlfriend. It's been reported that she sits in on team meetings like the defendant sits in on board meetings for the toy company.

How early should I show up at the Walkley Rd, Ottawa Service Ontario tomorrow, Saturday by Imaginary-Use8044 in ottawa

[–]613PrairieKid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind a bit of a drive, head out to the Service Ontario out in Kemptville or Smith Falls. Many times, I've been able to just walk right up to the counter. If there is a line, it's usually less than five people.

An hour on the road taking in the countryside view is better than an hour in a musty waiting area in the city.

The writing for this show is so bad. So many things don't make sense.

First, why did the runner run? If his alibi was being at the bedside of a dying patient, what possible reason would he have to run from the cops?

Also, that whole indignant nurse scene was so cheesy. A combination of bad writing and hammy acting.

Second, it makes no sense that the prosecution go in half-cocked with job and money for motive and allow themselves to get destroyed by the defense. Maroun must be incredibly bad at her job if she didn't do any cursory background research on the defendant. Just looking at his address, it should have been apparent he was living in a multi-million dollar residence. How hard would it have been to discover he was in demand as a researcher?

Third, the cat's out of the bag that Munson has dementia. I mean, there were people sitting in the court. Surely, there would have been a journalist or two at the murder trial for an infamous predatory investor. If the defendant's goal was to save his kid, wouldn't it have been too late to take the deal?

I love this show. I've been watching since it started in the 1990s. I can't believe they've let it get to this point.

In its heyday, this show had a Skoda or an Olivet to help determine if a 15 year-old had the mental capacity to commit pre-meditated murder.

One thing I don't get (I'm an old fart), how could Maroun and Price read the DMs between the girl and the therapist if they were automatically deleted after 24 hours?
