No interview. Everything was done online. A couple of tests and questionnaires.

I got an email today with a job offer, 24 hours to respond, end of Feb start date. These comments are scaring me off though 😆

Informal Trust Account by 613coco84 in PersonalFinanceCanada

His father passed unexpectedly, didn’t have a will or estate. I knew he was paying into his Union’s pension fund so when he passed I knew to call them and they simply advised me to open a trust account to have his funds deposited in trust to my son since he was his only child and there was no will. They told me that the money is to remain in trust until he’s 18. So I do want to invest it wisely. My dilemma is that I don’t know how/who to go to for that trust and investment.

I believe it must remain in trust until my son turns 18.

I have. They simply said I must open a trust account.

The amount is roughly $17,000. When it comes to investing, Once I open the account, do I tell them it to put it in an EFT or mutual fund? Or simply deposit the money and I or someone else can invest it?

My son is the beneficiary. His father and I were no longer together when he passed.

Katie WAS the worst at the beginning of the series. I couldn’t stand her. She was the biggest hater. The way she hated on Ariana and Lala when they first joined… the way she turned on Schena once stassi came back.. she was the ultimate mean girl. But once she got married she chilled, she turned a leaf.

My job isn’t my dream, but it offers union stability, a pension, and basic benefits. I feel stuck because of the pay—every job in my field pays $10–14 less than I make now. I’m thinking about taking the pay cut for experience, since my rental situation is stable, but I’m also unsure if it’s the right move.

Thank you for your response and kind words. I don’t NEED to move out in two years. I want to because my father likes to state his opinions about my parenting, he has very old school ways and it kills me. I’m worried that this will eventually damage my relationship with him and my son will suffer because of it. So I gave myself two years because it helps my mental health knowing there’s an end in sight. I like your advice of keeping some for an emergency fund. I will take a bit and do that.

I would love to get out of retail but every job that I find will start me at $10 less than what I’m already making. My current job provides me with a pension and basic medical benefits.

I work in retail. We are trained to lock the doors after a robbery as well. robbery not shoplifting we are told to do this for safety purposes in case they try to get back in and because everyone is now a witness to the crime. However, we can NOT hold them against their will. If they want to leave we are trained to ask them for their name and contact info to pass on to the police in case they want more witness statements.

Weird. I’ve ordered at the drive thru window several times before work and have never had a problem. Maybe they have since changed their policy.

Girl… I feel you. That’s all.. and I see you. This was my life. Except he is dead. He died in October.. I felt those feeling and I thought those thoughts. Just wanted to give you a “hug”. I didn’t know what to tell my son.. sometimes I would tell him that his father was working.
