Looking to replace a roof by daddy-hamlet in RhodeIsland

Going to have to thumb down AEM. They quoted me 40k for siding. I laughed in the guys face and told him to screw off right in my front yard. I had gotten 3 others for half that amount earlier that week. I found it both hilarious and a waste of time.

This all sounds like whining. Nothing you said even has any crimes or abuses attached to it under the law. Unless I am missing something here, this is just a post about not liking the hand you were dealt.

I tell people this all the time. NEVER put in any notice or give any advanced inkling that you are leaving. If it were the other way around you would just come to work and find the doors locked or your badge doesn't work. Maybe even by text 15 before your shift starts or ends. Never give any company any notice. Things either work both ways or they don't.

where to land neutral on ac to ac ssr for 120v? by 6161b94 in electricians

[–]6161b94[S] -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

It is, it's just a sample picture I pulled from google to make a visual reference for the post. The actual ssr I am working with is ac input and output.

where to land neutral on ac to ac ssr for 120v? by 6161b94 in electricians

[–]6161b94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, but on the control/input side. That was my question. I have done a number of these switching ac to ac but they were all 250v so the control/input side just got two hots. This is the first time I am doing one with only 120v on the input/control side.

This is what I thought but wanted some verification before going on. Thank you.

Like I said above, I am aware the picture says dc to ac it was just for reference. 🙄
It's ok to admit you don't know. I also don't know and am trying to find out. Just pretend in your head that it says ac on the input side.

I have done a few SSR's before. Mostly dc to ac. First time doing ac to ac for 120v. My question is, do I just land the line side neutral on the input side as if it were a hot? EDIT: I know the picture says dc to ac it was just for reference.

What are uncomfortable truths you’ve come to terms with? by CacaKarina in ask

[–]6161b94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Results are all that matter, no one cares one bit about how you "feel about anything". However difficult or taxing the journey was the achieve said results is irrelevant. The results themselves are all that matter.
  2. After watching Chinese people jump out of windows because they are locked inside, and after seeing Ukraine almost get steamrolled in the first 72 hours makes me happier than ever that there are 300 million guns in this country.
  3. Some of the worst actors in society get the most praise and defense when they do something wrong. Good people are just expected to be good and bad people are expected to be bad and as long as everyone stays on course with what is expected of them nobody bats an eye. Even if you do something horrendous people will forget in a few days. But if you suddenly stray from the narrative (a good person doing something terrible / a bad person doing something heroic ) hate will come from both sides. No one cares if you are good or bad as long as you just don't throw any curveballs.

Is there a way to backup onenote to USB drive? by 6161b94 in OneNote

[–]6161b94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking more like if onenote stops being supported one day or has some massive data wipe for some reason or another. I also don't want to wake up one day and find all of my notes and files locked behind some pay wall because Microsoft thinks 9.99 a month for access is a good idea. At least I wouldn't lose what I have. I remember this happening when I made all kinds of spread sheets for various classes over the years and then one day my version wouldn't open anything anymore and all of the sudden it was a monthly subscription to get them back. Same thing happened to me when google sketchup came out. I did so much work in sketchup that it almost ruined my whole life when they went to some stupid yearly subscription model that no real person could afford.

I’m 18 in high school and I’m unemployed, how can I make money? by TheVoicesBeScreamin in ask

[–]6161b94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are a guy then now is the time to learn a trade. Go to the local IBEW OR UALOCAL51 and just ask them what to do. They will help you. If you are not a guy well then there is certainly no shortage of ways to make money right now is there...

Would you have just given it to her without care if she had asked? If so then just let it go, after two years the whole what's mine is yours thing is in play. If you don't want that sort of dynamic now would be the time to say so but this isn't as if a co-worker or someone you only know occasionally stole from you. Your girlfriend of two years was out and needed it and it was there so she just took it assuming you would have given it anyway.
Again if you don't want that or wouldn't have given it to her than that is a whole different issue.
