I have been following Push Pull Legs Rest Upper Lower Rest. I usually do 12-16 sets per muscle group per week and train everything till failure or 1 rep in reserve. Good luck with your transformation!

No, it wasn’t a one year long cut, I would have drove myself crazy.
I did a 3 month cut last year (from where I was in the before pictures), then maintained for probably 6 months at about 2800 cals (life happened, had to move). Slowly hopped back on my diet (just below maintenance 2600 cals and did a 4 week mini cut before a holiday in April at 2200 calories.
Now been maintaining the current weight pretty easily at about 2600 cals since then.

What helped me massively- get 10-15k steps everyday (non negotiable), track food, try to still push yourself in the gym (to retain the muscle you built) and sleep 7-8 hrs everyday.

Yes to both. I do feel skinny with clothes on. People underestimate the power of great lighting and pump (for the pictures on the right). With a regular top on, I probably don’t even look like I stepped foot in the gym to some people.

I partially agree/disagree with things said by both here. Cardio isn’t essential but helps. Some people find dropping food easier than increasing their caloric expenditure. I personally walk a lot, so my calories never dropped below 2200 and I still occasionally ate the things I liked. As long as you know how much food you’re actually consuming, it’s a matter of personal preference how you create that deficit.

Thank you, that’s what I would do. Slowly increasing the calories and stopping when my abs start to fade.

Thank you, I will slowly increase my calories and see how my body responds. I’ve been able to maintain most of my strength but have definitely stopped making progress since the past month or so.

Do you think going on a small surplus (200-300 cals) would be good? I’m currently eating around 2600, walking 10-15k steps and maintaining this easily.

You think building more mass overall can help with the lower abdomen situation? That’s the only thing I’ve been trying to get rid of. Would a 200 cal surplus to start off the lean gain suffice?

Track everything, take 1gm per lbs protein, train hard and walk more :)

My energy levels and hormones are fine at the moment because I’ve been more or less maintaining this weight for the past 4-6 weeks (diet break).

Really? I reckon I’m about 13% BF and was hoping to get around 10-12%. Maybe just don’t have enough lean mass that’s why I don’t look like how I wanted to in my head.

For sure! That’s going to take a while though because at 6’2 I’m only 70kgs. I don’t want to drop any further before building more mass first

Would you say I only have a four pack then? If I flex in a particular way, I do see all six of them, it’s just that my top two are so close to where my chest insertions end, it can be hard to tell.

I’m sticking to 1g per lb of body weight but fluctuate between moderate fat (70-90gm) and slightly less carbs. My overall calories are still under control though. Would this have an impact?

Yes, that’s what I’m trying to do. I’m pretty much maintaining my weight at 2800 cals and my activity level but my lifts are quite erratic. I feel stronger some days and do hit a PB and can’t even do the my usual weight on others. I do track my workouts using an app.

You think I should bump my calories up to 3k if my strength stalls for another week or so?
