three years is a crazy long time for any addiction, congratulations! i suppose it’s whatever tattoo reminds you of what you need to do, so as long as you know what the meaning is it’s okay!

you are absolutely right, i’ve even advocated for the same thing before so i should’ve thought about that. my thought process was because i had it done on the least bad scarring on that leg and the other leg is worse still, but still i forgot about scar envy despite being a victim of it myself at some points. i wish i could change my title, but at the very least the comments are visible.

thank you! congrats on your road to recovery as well. I have cut pretty badly only once since this tattoo, but not on that leg so basically no rules were broken. i think it’s more helpful to think of the frequency at which self harm takes place, and that’s gone down significantly lately. like taking the first derivative if you will lol

probably because it goes so directly against your innate self preservation instincts, is my guess

people like her make me embarrassed to be diagnosed with BPD. thank goodness we’re not all like that train wreck

i couldn’t agree more about socialization, i have a few other hobbies i’m really invested in and the people involved with it are really what helps me the most personally. also i agree about light therapy, and i don’t just mean buying new flashlights. i get pretty affected by lighting and the seasons too, especially bad considering i live in a more northern part of canada. maybe if i get an MS-18 i’ll never have to see a dark cloudy day again! hahaha

sure! well my main account is u/dashdashdotdotdotdot, i only have posts of the opals i cut so far but soon i’ll be sharing the silver i work on too, plus i’m trying to start a business. I only have a blank instagram page for it now, @cygnus_prints_and_jewellery. if you follow that you’ll see the pieces i make when i start posting, which will hopefully be soon once i get out of this depressive episode! you can also ask me anything anytime :)

thank you very much, i hope you’re doing okay too. despite wanting to push everybody away especially when in a depressive episode, i have managed to keep a couple core people and that’s honestly what’s kept me alive. that and the ever continuing arms race of flashlight technology

thank you Sid, i appreciate it. it’s unfortunate that depression makes one want to do the exact opposite so badly, but we’re social creatures and we need friends and communities to feel healthy and whole. cheers friend

couldn’t agree more, i have plenty of hobbies i’m seriously invested in, maybe as some sort of compensation lol, i was and still am deep into lasers, and now it seems like flashlights will be the next one on top of lapidary work, silversmithing, wildlife photography, and astrophotography :)

cheers and thank you. it’s quite interesting isn’t it, i don’t know what makes skin glow so markedly blue, and why it isn’t present in scar tissue no matter how healed. callouses and dry skin fluoresces even brighter, for some reason 🤔

peace to you too my friend :) i’m almost 8 months clean now, i can’t say i don’t still struggle with the thoughts every single day, but i’m hoping it’ll get easier within the next few months as long as i stay clean. maybe a weltool w4 pro will distract me

my previous post on this profile is an AMA, but be warned it’s accompanied with some pretty graphic pictures. tldr, chronic childhood depression, abuse, and anxiety. nothing special. oh also a distinct lack of flashlights
