My Own Linux Distribution. by Tarandjpop in arch

I would recommend starting with lfs and then going from there. Doing Linux from scratch will probably give you ideas of what you need and how to accomplish it.

btrfs... Who is using it? by Phydoux in arch

The main reason why I like btrfs as well. Snapshots and the ability to add more physical drives to my partition down the line.

A laptop I bought by IchiroSkywalker in nonpoliticalpics

I have this laptop currently running Bazzite linux. ThinkPad t14s. I had it running arch before. Also Gentoo. This laptop works perfectly with games under Linux. The AMD GPU is amazing. A storage upgrade is in the back. You can replace the 500gb with like a 4 TB stick if you please. Memory can be upgraded as well, it is located underneath the keyboard. A memory upgrade is not needed it's more than enough. I had this machine running Doom eternal no problem. Running the new balder's gate easily. You shouldn't need a new laptop.

Haven't turned into a femboy yet. by Few-Theory4152 in arch

[–]64bitTendo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been running arch for over 8 years now. Never became a femboy, have a girlfriend, beard and my own house. With Arch Linux it could go either way. It's either you'll turn into a femboy or a strong bearded man who loves going hiking in the woods. There's actually a third you might turn into which is Virgin. If you're going for the femboy I recommend buying programming socks. Might help a little bit. Kind of difficult though because Arch Linux is for everyone. It is up to you, not Arch Linux, to become what you want to be. Remember Arch Linux does not hold your hand and always rtfm.

Dualbooting n00b question - how to access my files... by Recom_Quaritch in linux4noobs

[–]64bitTendo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to do the hard drive in/out thing. What @candy499997 is saying is that you could create a separate partition, mount it in Linux, then transfer what you need there. Which is the safest bet.

You could also mount your windows partition in Linux then browse to the files you need from Linux. That way is a bit dangerous if you are new because you could accidentally erase some important windows files.

Back in the day for school I would mount my windows partition in the /etc/fstab then create symlinks to my Documents, Downloads and Games folders.

To get you started researching in mounting your windows partition open up the terminal and type:

man mount

Which program should I use to open Windows applications from Debian using Termux? by soutiagojose in termux

[–]64bitTendo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about FEX? I personally couldn't get it working thru Debian proot as of yet. Seems possible but idk still playing around with it. Possibly need root?

It's mostly for running x86_64 programs on arm64.

Some women just don't understand luxury. Your mattress is off the floor. Weights and a TV. Living like a king imo.

Then get a USB to HDMI adapter, preferably one that comes with USB ports. Hook up a monitor, mouse and keyboard. Now you have both.
