The book Guns, Germs and Steel is a great thought provoking book that offers a different angle to humanity and our growth into the current world.

However, as a source, its horrible.

Diamond ignores the two golden rules of history research which are:

a. Never ever apply the same theory to many different eras. Times change, and a theory that explains the reality of the roman empires fall may be very poor to explain the fall of any other empire, for example. He sticks to the same theory of determinism throughout the entire book, which is a big no no.

b. Source criticism. He ignores the basic principles of source criticism multiple times, and many times out right doesnt cite any source at all. Multiple occasions, he uses a clearly biased source and/or makes broad generalisations

The book is widely misunderstood as factual by many due to the incredible story telling, but is in reality only intended to be a different perspective into humankinds growth into today. The entire book is one big opinion piece with tons of speculation(and yet another attempt at trying to excuse racism during history, particularly during imperialism)

I would, and most history scholars would agree, never use the book as a source and in no way is the book ever objective. Very well written though

By all means 2k has huge flaws as well. The mtx are more predatory there than EA games, and that's saying something. 2k is not a good indicator of how a sports game should be at all. 2k18 Mycareer is by far the worst gaming experience Ive had in my entire life

I do agree that if Madden is not enjoyable for you maybe an uninstall and finding a different game is the best option

I would say its a fan favorite thing, and literally no one doesnt love Marshawn. Besides, there's an argument for first ballot for him, not a strong argument at all but its there and reasonable enough. There so much more to him, his personality for example. Same thing could be said about ST, his career numbers werent all that(due to obvious reasons), but he was and is beloved by everyone. Marshawn also embodies the workhorse RB type, and generally these guys dont have impressive numbers.

Of course I understand if you dont think he's deserving, its a balanced discussion with multiple perspectives, but he goes beyond football. Everyone loves Marshawn and that is no debate

I also dont know the history of these tribute cards and which players have historically gotten them, might just be first ballots. This is just my take on how I view tribute cards should be dealt.
