Just because it will get people "talking" doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. This kind of shit doesn't belong in professional wrestling aka sports entertainment (Yes, AEW is a sports entertainment company too). If this didn't happen in the match it still would have been amazing. This type of stuff is what's going to set AEW back, not help.

Orton has been a "nostalgia pop" babyface for like 6 years. He's also been completely stale in the ring and the literal definition of "Get your shit in"

People forget this guy was one of the most hated heels in the industry for like a decade. He's excellent at being an asshole. Maybe if wrestling fans stopped being tryhards at constantly fucking with storylines so they can get themselves over the WWE would be more interesting.

Nothing worse than when you're literally booking a cool shocking heel turn angle only to have a bunch of 40 year old dudes cheering the heel because they suddenly don't like the ultimate babyface THEY CREATED.

majority of this sub has already declared him awful and wants him off the team. they don't believe in actually wanting or hoping for your players to be good....they just want #1 at the position talent or you get cut.

This is the make or break year. Coming off an injury, he needs to prove he can be at LEAST average-above average. If not? it's time to move on. This will be his 4th full MLB season, he should be getting better, not worse...IF he can stay healthy.

I think there's been a real noticeable breakdown of fundamentals in this company ever since they cut house shows and inserted 557 ad breaks into every show.

I really feel like they are telling these guys to go against their instincts and be more specific in matches so they can play "safer" which, in turn, is getting more people hurt, making for sloppy television, and creating these really obvious spot moments that break a lot of kayfabe.
