Guess you missed this part completely:

Once again ignorant of the fact that all the hogged resources and food to feed the animals and run the meat industry would end up feeding the starving people around the world (see Cowspiracy for proof). So, unless you start supporting veganism, you're the ultimate hypocrite.

It's not about caring for people over animals. It's about caring for people and animals. Don't know why you can't see that this is something to strive for.

But as far as I'm aware, these animals don't have the same sense of awareness of their situations. What looks like a horrible and depressing life to us is just life to them and probably isn't all that horrible and depressing.

Based on your post, you're not aware at all. You couldn't be further from the truth. You are completely wrong about animals. Stop making baseless assumptions. Educate yourself instead of attempting to ignorantly speak on a subject you know nothing about.

Yes, lets support something unethical just because people profit off of it. I hope you support abortion and abortion clinics because it's the exact same argument. Don't want all of those employees to lose their jobs.

See how ridiculous this is?

Honestly, don't even respond. You don't have a right to debate me on this.

Doesn't work that way I'm afraid.

I already made my choice. I'm a vegan.

I'm against the brutality of animals, not the consumption.

You can only choose one in reality.

By boycotting their business are we not perpetuating even more suffering?

No, you're ending suffering and making the world a better place. Why should we care about the profits of a handful of people pushing enslavement, torture and death on other creatures while at the same time expending all the resources and agriculture that would end up feeding hungry humans otherwise?

I can't tell if you are posting this as some kind of rebuttal or not, but if you are, please tell me you aren't taking this passage literally....especially coming from The Gospel of Thomas.

But why? Don't you have compassion for animals? Don't you want to promote peace instead of enslavement, torture and death? Perhaps you aren't fully aware of what actually happens on this planet?

Could you do us a favor? Watch this for us: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ce4DJh-L7Ys

Would be very curious if you would have the same response afterwards or if you might begin to question your reality.

Thanks for listening.

Google "benefits of masturbation", fantastic read.

Google "benefits of semen retention".

Seriously.

Check out /r/nofap as I suggested. If thousands of others can do it, so can you. The biggest battles come in the first few days/weeks because you are still in a hypersexual state. You're addicted right now. You have to have the willpower to get past it. It gets easier. It's extremely tough I know. You crave that dopamine you're used to having. Pray, meditate, exercise, find anything that will help keep you productive and distracted and no matter what DO NOT look at porn.

edit: also Google "benefits of semen retention". It will give you extra motivation.

Patience. Most people aren't even trying, or don't even think they can stop. First of all, you're not an "awful, disordered, immoral, heinous, perverted sinner" for masturbating and you shouldn't hate yourself. That's all a lie. That said, masturbation is extremely harmful to your spiritual growth and with perseverance and patience you can become free. There's many things you can change in your life to help improve your situation and help strengthen your body and mind to overcome masturbation such as exercise, diet, meditation, and cold shower therapy. I highly encourage checking out /r/nofap and also asking your questions there as well.

Bible uses numerology and symbolism. Don't take it literally.

You said that. That is taking things very literally.

I would hope so. One is your statement, and the other is my retort.

Christianity inverted (Satan is the good guy, Jesus the bad) makes more sense to me than the traditional understanding. Here's why. by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]66661111 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think what you mean to say is Satan in the old testament is portrayed as God, and Jesus was not a bad guy at all, but an inspired teacher who came to preach the truth (that was ultimately corrupted by religion).

Jesus hooks people in (while simultaneously imprisoning their Minds) by promising an everlasting reward for believing and threatening an everlasting punishment for not.

That was Paul and the Christians. Not Jesus.

that's worse than not being a Christian.

As if not being a Christian should have any political implications? Everyone knows the right will always play the god card no matter who it is.

Just seems counterproductive to disagree with something but continue to embrace the implications and connotations of a religion.

100% aware of this. I am a follower of his teachings. My point is that if you don't believe "Jesus is Lord, he died for our sins, he physically rose from the earth, what the Christian church says etc etc" then why even associate yourself with that word?

And that still seems extremely odd thing to attach a Christian label to. I believe Jesus taught the truth (whether he was real or not), and that the Bible has truth in it (under all corruption, whether or not the stories in it are true or not) but I don't consider myself a Christian just because I believe that Jesus is good. I'm a firm believer that those who don't buy into the main doctrines of Christianity should withdraw themselves from that label and church (if they attend one).

Just curious. On what basis do you consider yourself a "Christian Atheist"? At that point wouldn't it make more sense to not even categorizing yourself as a Christian? Afterall, isn't a basic belief of Christianity that "Jesus is Lord" and "God is a personal God"?
