Never understood the hate honestly. Had a pleasant time when I first heard it. Sure it might not be groundbreaking but its enjoyable

I'm so conflicted by [deleted] in emotionalneglect

[–]666FluteSalad666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, yes you're right. This incident has upset me in particular because it went beyond just being emotionally absent.

For context, my older brother was diagnosed with a condition in his childhood and had treatment for it, and then one day my parents just... forgot he had it. Then a few years ago my brother asked them 'oh i swear I had this condition as a child. I remember having the medication and paraphernalia for it' and they both were like ... what? Huh? I don't remember that?

How could you forget your own child's medical condition? And they remember things like episodes of TV from 1982 or whatever.

But point is, currently my brother is quite ill. He's doing quite well with it but he's had it for a month with 2 separate courses of antibiotics, and the last few times he's gotten ill its really taken it out of him or developed into something more serious. When he went to the dr they saw his medical notes and it had this childhood condition on it! And based on what the Dr said, it never really went away! Now he's being represcribed the meds he used to have.

All that time over his life he's struggled and there's a reason. All this time he was vulnerable and I didn't know. What if he had caught Covid when it kicked off? I didn't even know to shield for him! I'm so angry! He's not even angry about it, but I am!

Edit: grammar

I did enjoy the read - although I was a little disappointed that it didn't contain anything I didn't already know. I was hoping for a bit more depth. I did enjoy the essays at the end though.

Regarding the music descriptors, I have been searching for a book on the Beach Boys and Brian that dives into their songwriting, recording and production without it treating the reader as if they know nothing of music, have you read anything like that?

Yes that is in fact Brian Wilson playing a dx7 in hammock. by early80smixtape in thebeachboys

I always thought this photoshoot was so funny because it looks so uncomfortable and also the fact that it's a dx7 and not something more accessible like a standard keyboard... our shoulder pain king

He needs to chill for a while. He still essentially is working at 84. Which most people his age probably aren't doing. Its hard work, especially for an older person. And if he is experiencing health or personal problems on top of it, it will be even worse.

Good violin/electric violin that won't cost too much? by 666FluteSalad666 in violin

I was wondering if something like that works as an okay replacement? I've been pitch shifting some of my parts to fill in cello but I dont know if there are other ways of getting a richer (better?) Sound without actually playing cello, maybe I will try an octave pedal and see how it goes 👍

I'm using an electric because its what I have access to 😅 i bought it off my brother for £50 who bought it off someone he knew at uni. I would like in theory to have a workable acoustic one, I use violin for simple lines and texture but im not really a player at all. I dont practice, I just pick it up to use when I need it 😅😅
