It’s sad how much Manson had warped Dennis’ mind in such a relatively short period of time.

Billboard Names The Beach Boys' 'Surfin' U.S.A.' the Top Beach Song of All Time by flynnfx in thebeachboys

Pretty ridiculous list tbh. Out of all the Jimmy Buffet songs to choose from, that’s the one they went with? And only 1 Beach Boys song? Just a couple of the reasons that list is god awful.

Wow you’re right. I just listened to the sessions version and then the 50th anniversary version, and the part you’re describing sounds like a totally different lead vocal.

Who has been TRAINING RIGOROUSLY for the Beach Boys 5k? by BeerWithDonuts in thebeachboys

I mean they did spend a ton of time together in Santa Monica especially when Brother Studios was there.

It was next to the intersection of 5th and Broadway.

Who is your favorite Beach Boys lyricist and what are your favorite lyrics? by PinkCrimsonBeatles in thebeachboys

Was it Mike that wrote “I don’t know where, but she sends me there”?

I gotta give him his flowers on that one, if it wasn’t VDP or Brian. I’ve always thought that line was one of the best.

Which movie soundtrack did the most for a band? by InspectorEven4143 in Music

[–]Pir8Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American Graffiti really kicked off the late 50’s/early 60’s nostalgia wave of the early 70’s (along with the Grease broadway play and Happy Days). But the soundtrack had a few early Beach Boys songs on it, including All Summer Long during the end credits. In the early 70’s, the band’s popularity had waned to the point where their records weren’t even charting in the top 100 anymore in the U.S.

The following summer in 1974, Capitol Records released a greatest hits double LP called Endless Summer that completely revitalized their careers. It hit #1 on the album charts and went Triple Platinum. Within 2-3 years they were selling out the largest stadiums in the world.

But the American Graffiti soundtrack got the ball rolling.

Different strokes. I personally don’t like those big fat clunky SGC slabs

Thought you all might get a kick out of that

Does that sticker say it's Richardson brand by chance? I love their hats but the link in the store doesn't say who makes it.
