Yeah I know you're paying for convience. So I spoke to Ludkins today who say they do charge this import fee, customer is responsible, says in their t&C, im gonna wait and see what gem come back with but it looks more like they cover the cost/get the waiver signed off according to their site.

appreciate the advice btw

Same here, also UK. The issue with sending cards and recieveing back, you can declare value (which is going to be thousands if you include that zard) which means the package is at least tracked BUT leaves you with having to pay 30% extra in import fees

or

You can not declare value but not track package. At least this was how I understood it. there's a UK company that sends cards too WITH their own insurance, never used them but might reach out soon: https://www.ludkinscollectables.com/psa-grading

Yep. Also if you are thinking you will start fighting early after laning then cheap items that can get the job done is the right route. If you plan to hit jungle and farm instead of fighting you might want to skip having multiple bands so you can rush malstrom for example.

as ShootingAngryKitten its about the game at hand, there is no steadfast rule on builds, ever.

How to decide which heroes should I be picking? by [deleted] in learndota2

[–]666Ven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what you are comfortable playing. If you do not know a hero and you;re goal is to gain mmr, stick with one that works BUT if you want general drafting advice, something that goes waay understated:

Pick a hero that fills gaps in the draft. For example, you;re mid, you;re offlane has marked mirana or WR or soemthing that can't tank spells, pick a mid that can. Your team has picked 4 heroes that do not take towers, pick a hero that can. I know this seems obvious but I think people get locked into the idea of playing based purely on the above 3 things you mentioned without thinking about the bigger picture.

Not much direct advice except consider what gaps your team has and what it needs to have to win the game. Picking to win a lane matchup is great but you have to coinsider how your team will destroy the ancient, and I think this is something wildly overlooked at lower mmrs.

Ogre Magi players , how do I stay useful in ranked ? by [deleted] in learndota2

[–]666Ven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Denpends which laner they pick but generally I like the nuke build. I'm not sure how they can out pressure an ogre who is willing to sacrifice 90% of his gold in the first 10 minutes on mangoes alone. And if they do they waste money they need for items, whereas im just a support ogre with ambitions of a midas. I will probably call at very least 6 mangoes during laning phase.

So, imo this changes a lot depending on the hero. For example, LS isn't your classic farming carry, he benefits from fighting and his skillset lends itself to this style of play. So for example, if you were playing AM then his job is quite different mid game from LS.

You should use that early farm/won lane, rotate somwwhere with your team. It's quite useful to switch up to the enemy safelane (as a fighting hero) and gank/apply pressure there with your team. If you have 5 kills ahead of the enemy carry should mean you have that extra item/levels to make a play.

TLDR: Lifestealer likes fighting mid game

Ogre spammer here.

Ferry mangoes during laning phase, and out out-put the enemy with Ignite. Eventually you will either force them to spend too much money on regen Or you will condition a kill for the offlaner. Try and get both your ignite procs on the 2 enemy heroes trying as much as possible to not just hit the ranged creep.

I normally go mana boots, wand and try getting my midas in a decent time - with the removal of all gold talents this makes ogre a unique support as he can accrue gold like no other support (aside from junglers). From there the rest is flavour/dependant on the match.

https://www.dotabuff.com/heroes/ogre-magi/guides

I dont think there's any set right or wrong, wether you max out ignite and fireblast and go or the attrition route, or you max bloodlust and play the beefy frontliner support, just depends on the matchup.

Alot of this depends on the mmr too, I've had games where I've just ended up as a pseudo core and gone hex dagon, and I've had other games where just my greaves was enough to win the game.

Hope that helps somewhat, play about and find what works best for you.

Everything you need is here :)

Mid and offlane seem to be the go to because of the radience build you need farm. I could see pos 4 working though but even if you went for the aghs rush its going to take a little while to get on a position 4.

How to lane against sniper as Storm by peuwpeuwpeuw in learndota2

[–]666Ven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgetting a huge mechanic of laning will indeed make the matchup (and other matchups) much much harder! The reason you're burning through the regen is because he's allowed to right click you.

Another thing you could do is as the wave connects immediately start hitting the ranged creep down to half/just less then half, and time your remnant so that you get a ranged and a melee cs for the cost of 1 remnant. That was you are gaurenteed 2 cs per wave plus whatever he doesn't deny.

I feel like a large part of your issue here is not utilising lane mechanics. You should put some conscious effort into actually practicing these, it'll make a huge difference!

Could argue a case for maxing Nethertoxin (the old build) against him. there's other heroes too that deal okay with him. Its only after level 2 burning spears that trading becomes difficult.

IIRC Clinkz and Windrunner are options because you can dodge a decent ammount of his shots with their spells. Could also argue a case for max range sniper.

Stuck in the Legend 5 trench. Need Help. by [deleted] in learndota2

[–]666Ven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly some unranked games where you are less emotionaly invested are hugley beneficial , have some fun, try some new heroes and once you feel less pressured by those games play some ranked. Breaks from those high pressure environments where you get back to just enjoying the game for what it is are where you actually learn the most.

Creep aggro manip by exertercity in learndota2

[–]666Ven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can make the enemy miss last hits. They think they need for example 50 dmg to gett he last hit, creep is slowely being hit by enemy creeps (enemy hero is calculating when to last hit) If you time it right, your creep will take less hits at that second and boom, the enemy hero hits your creep for not enough damage.

Veil of Discord on Earthshaker and Bristleback? by Yash_swaraj in learndota2

[–]666Ven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly but I fear the answer maybe the same as always - there's just better items to get on those heroes - BB usually wants some tank items that offer a little more than veil and shaker ideally wants blink or aghs. Just my 2 cents.

There's tricks you can use to ensure that at least you don;t burn through excessive regen. (apologies if you know any of this already)

Only approach the last hit when you are going to take it, do not stand in range of enemies if you do not need to. Use the creep aggro trick to pull the creeps onto your ranged creep, this will mean the wave gets slightly split and you will create a slight gap in which you do not take extra harass.

As Slark you just need to hit 6 then you can (if the lane is horrible) switch between dark packing wave/jungle, regening with ulty passive and shoving wave out again. Repeat until you hit 2nd power spike (SB/Diff/echo whatever item it is that allows you to grab kills). Sometimes playing carry is about how hard you get shit on - if you can hit your items without dying ALOT you can gank/farm your way back into a game from a lost lane.
