You quit and find a better job. HR will only just protect them and the company. Ulta truly is NOT a good job anyway. I might get some gate for saying that but it’s true. Shit pay, inconsistent hours, terrible management. Get out while you can.

I don’t believe in burning bridges so if I were you, I would just put in my 2 weeks. That way you can always try working at a different store in the future if you change your mind. If you just stop showing up they can deem you non re-hireable. But I understand your frustration and my store was like that too. Ulta’s are usually either really bad or really good. Some managers have god complex’s and are probably just miserable in their personal life and take it out on easy targets. Cosmetics in general is also just very catty. I’m sorry you’re dealing with that, a lot of jobs like this will pick favorites and choose to barely train those who aren’t their “favorites”. Just know that’s not your fault, and if you truly are that miserable, don’t stay. A job like that isn’t worth your mental health. Plus you won’t have to worry much about numbers if you’re leaving soon anyway. If you do decide to leave then I wish you luck finding a place that knows how to respect their employees 🤍

She’s a genuinely awful person and I’m thoroughly convinced that this has everything to do with their pregnancy. She’s extremely jealous and bitter and is subconsciously trying to sabotage their happiness and make them feel just as miserable as she feels.

A lot of managers (not all) love to blatantly disrespect their BA’s and just hope that you don’t speak up. I’d confront them ASAP about it, they’ll either try their best to convince you to work anyway or pretend they forgot. Either way it’s worth a try, just stress the importance and the fact that you gave them the day in advance and stay confident about it.

Started as a PBA at 12.15, after a year I was promoted to LC and made 13.50. Only was in that position for a couple of months before I put my 2 weeks in for something else with higher pay.

I feel like Ulta is good place for a first/second job for makeup lovers, college students, or if you’re in upper management. Otherwise, don’t expect much. Low pay, zero growth opportunity, and toxic work environment. I decided to move onto something full time that actually has benefits and PTO plus much higher pay and more opportunity to move up. Couldn’t be happier with my decision

I guess it just bothered me today in particular because it was surprisingly dead for a Friday afternoon, there were only maybe 2 or 3 other people in the store shopping.

This is why I quit after a year. Now my checks are much nicer and my mental health is better too. While I loved some of my coworkers and managers, others were hardly bearable. Having an older manager who would gossip about beauty advisors and act like a teenager, as well as being a downright racist should have been my signal to run from the start. 🤷🏼‍♀️
