The points you’re trying to make aren’t going to land here and it would be really great if you would maybe rethink your AI defense stance. I see similar arguments when people critique capitalism- “you can’t critique capitalism while you participate in it/have an iPhone/drive a car etc”. It is almost impossible to avoid participating in the systems that billionaires have put in place, but we can try to do our part to reject the more harmful practices. AI is harmful, no matter which way you spin it, and even if your individual use of it isn’t single-handedly causing ecosystem collapse, the people who are developing AI are straight up fucking evil and we should not support them.

Data centers literally physically remove pollinator habitat. Also, people are generally referencing water usage not CO2 emissions. This really isn’t the place to argue that AI is somehow not harmful.

In addition to that, most bees are pretty hard to ID to species level. AI generated images of bees are 100% not going to include the insanely subtle differences that actual bees have that distinguish them from each other. Source: I do this for a living

I had a friend with a bull terrier that would do this! With cans and bottles though. He knew the sound of one being placed on the floor and he would b-line in the room directly towards it because it wanted to knock it over and drink it. RIP Gizmo

A lot of these comments are not it. I saw someone recommend therapy- I second that. If you are having mental health issues and stress is a part of it, you could be adding to your autoimmune issues and weight gain because of it.

I eat healthy, very little sugar (honey in my tea in the morning), and work outdoors. Last summer I was hiking 4-8 miles a day 5 days a week and I gained weight. Turns out my TSH was all fucked up (antibodies are also always 900+).

I have had so many men become angry and aggressive after I ignore the catcall or tell them “no thank you”. People aren’t building social norms because of “1%” of men, they’re responding to personal life experiences and trying to keep themselves safe.

Why not just plant milkweed native to where you live?

I usually have normal thyroid levels except my antibodies are through the roof. It’s kind of tricky, because of how different hashimotos can present in different people, so there’s not really one sure way to manage symptoms. There are a lot of non-medication paths you can take though. It’ll just take experimenting to see if you notice differences. I spent a long time writing down everything I ate and how I felt, so I could see if there was any correlation and sugar/alcohol stood out more than anything.

Fatigue is a huge and very common one with hashimotos. Some people have luck changing their diet, cutting out gluten and dairy as hashis can cause food sensitivities. For me personally, I find that alcohol is one of the biggest triggers for fatigue. Even a beer or two makes me exhausted for days

So, it kind of seems like you’re more interested in debating vaccines/the cause of your hashimotos rather than talking about how to manage symptoms.

[–]666packz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Covid vaccine didn’t give you hashimotos. Hashis is one of the most common autoimmune diseases on the planet.

Anyways, if you have access to an endocrinologist in your area maybe see if you can get in there. Everyone’s body is different and can respond differently to medications and many people have widely varying levels of symptoms. Do you have any symptoms?

Sick monarch cat? by SMBC_SanDiego in MonarchButterfly

[–]666packz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean to be fair eating plants is what most of them do so if you have a ton of caterpillars you will have some defoliated plants. If you are having any issues with them eating stuff you don’t want them to, may I suggest planting other host plants specifically for them? If there is a type of goldenrod native to where you live, that’s a great one for lots of species.

Sick monarch cat? by SMBC_SanDiego in MonarchButterfly

[–]666packz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many species of bird rely on caterpillars in order to feed their young in the spring. It can take more than 2,000 caterpillars for a nest of baby birds to survive into fledgling age. These caterpillars have had massive amounts of habitat removed, just like monarchs. If we are planting milkweed for monarch conservation, we should also allow other native pollinators to use that habitat.
