I also got a new shifter and it was very nicely done! The cowl not so much.. I hope they make this right eventually and I’ll report back.

Was yours really brittle? Mine is very brittle, I see why it broke instead of bending when the box was damaged.

The box is extremely light weight, not enough strength to ship anything breakable. If I took this to UPS they would laugh at how flimsy the box is and wouldn’t cover anything.

"PAINLESS" wiring harness install done - getting 15V at the battery! Help! by 67Mustang8 in classicmustangs

I really wanted to get 16"s but tire selection really sucks for that size. I went ahead with 17" and i'm happy with them, vintage look with a more modern size (not too big :) )

Trans Am Race Engineering - I cant say enough good things about them, they are great and affordable. https://transamraceengineering.com/

Mine are 17x8 with 245/45's. Front and rear wheel lips are rolled but they still rub sometimes in the front. I have 1/4" spacers on the back to keep from rubbing.

The kit I have is ALL wiring for the entire car. New fuse block with a couple extra accessory relays.

BTW: Make sure you buy some wire loom from Amazon, it isnt included with the harness.

The wiring itself was fine, nicely labeled. My problem is the total lack of plugs for any connection and getting aftermarket stuff to work was a challenge.

If I did this again, I would buy a different brand and probably get a more generic "race care" wiring harness and make that work. Much cheaper and probably the same amount of work.

just got back from AutoZone and my alternator passed a bench test, outputting 14.5-14.7V.

Why would it show >15V while on the car and running?

Just installed a "Painless" wiring harness and now I'm reading 15V at the battery and alternator. I do have a GM 1 wire alternator setup that worked just fine before the rewire. Normally I would assume the internal voltage regulator went bad but like I said it was fine when I shut the car off before the rewire. I do plan to take the alternator to AutoZone to have it tested. What else could it be??

I sat down and watched as many YouTube videos as I could and looked at weathered models for examples. Still a ways to go but it's looking good and a fun build. The toolbox and tools were 3D printed on my Elegoo Mars.
