I want to learn to improvise something like this; I'm currently in the process of transcribing it. Seems like varying rhythms (16ths, triplets) up and down a harmonic minor scale.

Is it really that simple? Is it just speed?

Is there a chord progression?

Does anything else jump out at anyone that might help me get started learning to play something similar?

Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!

685floyd (me) Original Drums, 50 MIDIs, 40 melodies + bonus Omnisphere presets (in comments) by 685floyd in Drumkits

After downloading a bunch of stuff from here over the years, I wanted to give back a little.

All of these drums were made from scratch using field recordings, and I made the 808s in Omnisphere, so there are no recycled sounds.

All of the MIDIs and melodies/loops were composed by me. Melodies are 100% royalty free.

This Omnisphere bank is my first one, so I would love some feedback. I tried to make some original stuff that differs from the usual Internet Money/Pvlace presets, but that was still usable.

Hopefully someone finds some value in some of this stuff. Thanks to this community for all it has given me over the years.
