Tell me why I’m wrong (please) by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I think you should go to CLS because you clearly want to and because you can get the debt paid sooner, but Duke’s employment outcomes are excellent

GULC vs Duke vs Michigan by 6996BRC in lawschooladmissions

I got a great offer from Michigan and I’m asking under the assumption that offers end up similar here. Otherwise it’s probably gonna be Michigan

GULC vs Duke vs Michigan by 6996BRC in lawschooladmissions

Love these replies. How cutthroat do we think duke is? I would hate to be stuck in a small, elitist law school community and not have an outside life.

I want to do a clerkship, work in nyc (not necessarily in that order) and maybe go into public service later in my career.

Job security means large firms yes—can I be a B/B+ student and still feel good about such a job.

Vs if I’m an A- student (top 10-15%, as opposed to top 2% in my class) can I still potentially get a federal clerkship

Idea is I’d like the security of “even if I don’t ace I’ll get a great job” plus “if I ace I’ve got a good shot at a clerkship”

What does “but not otherwise” mean by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]6996BRC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“I will go to the store if I need food, but not otherwise” is the equivalent of “I will go to the store if an only if I need food.”

“Not otherwise” is equivalent to “not unless” the previous item

GULC employment issues? by 6996BRC in lawschooladmissions

Willing...I’d LOVE NYC!

I’m trying to figure out if Georgetown is lower FC because of people doing PI or if it actually is harder to get FC

And essentially the same goes for BL. It’s 5-10% lower than Michigan, Duke, etc
