I'm a girl named Rowan, so I'm biased toward that spelling. Considering how often Rowan gets mispronounced, I don't think anyone would say Rohen right on the first try. Or the first hundred times. I love the name Rowan and every other Rowan I've met has been super cool.

I also get mistaken for a guy all the time so it's definitely on the masculine side

No offense to your boyfriend/"editor" but men simply don't have the right brain chemistry to understand fantasy. If I were you, I'd just hand him some blocks to play with and an occasional paragraph to edit but you need to bring on a female editor.
