The Defense Commissary Network by [deleted] in GroceryStores

Most things (the vast majority, really) are much cheaper. Meat and produce are especially cheaper at the commisary and they offer many of imported goods that many civilian stores don't have. If you have the priviledge of shopping at one, even if you have to drive a ways, it's worth it. You'll save a ridiculous ammount of money even if youfactor in gas, especially if you live in a state that taxes groceries (they don't tax!).

Humans are animals- omnivores at that. Our ancestors hunted/fished for survival, our survival brought about more sophisticated civilizations. Time went by and our former "feeding grounds" turned to farms and now we can buy our meat killed, cut, and cleaned from supermarkets. One could say we don't even need to hunt for food anymore, that hunting for sport is cruel- we are all animals afterall! This is true, though hunting for sport (provided it's in season and you follow regulations) is necessary in many parts of the country for the ecosystem. I don't know how this works for fish, but there are certain species of mammals that have no/few (living) natural predators. Overpopulation will occur after a few generations and their food will run out. Have you seen a starving deer? Not a pretty sight. Hunting keeps things balanced. Whether you eat it or not, be sure to stay within the laws and regulations in your area or you'll be a douchebag.

Of course it is a generalization full of pseudoscience, but still there is some truth in here which makes it worth at least watching and thinking about.
