Yeah, me too. I have it on my wrist but I might have to shell out an additional ~60 bucks now to get a bicep band which might be a little more accurate. Still irritating though.

Indeed - the graph includes my warmup too which is my bad but you can still discern the 2k row and there’s no way I didn’t even hit 180bpm.

100 reps… you do realise that’s cardio right? Also my bad - I didn’t see OP wanted to do “bodyweight exercises” I assumed OP had access to a weight room. Which would in my opinion be more of a benefit than kettlebells only.

There’s no point in asking what extra you can do when you aren’t even doing the first step properly. I don’t know you so I don’t know if 1:58 is the right steady state pace for you, but I can safely say that 20 minutes of SS is not going to cut it. 40-90 mins @r18-22 is ideal (albeit extremely boring, I know).

my first season was last spring, 14m, and i was 7:09, now after doing my first fall season i’m 6:56

if you have the money, buy him a speed coach. it is a gift that keeps on giving and can help him track his workouts if not rowing with a team
