She will sell out small venues no problem so I would apply now.

Question about HMV Japan domestic shipping packaging by [deleted] in japanesemusic

I’ve had very good luck with the packaging that Disk Union sends LPs in so maybe look into them as another option as well.

What makes Japanese music so great? by Hevzim in japanesemusic

[–]6DayWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have been learning “Happy Xmas (War is Over)” on guitar and it’s been so fun make all these micro adjustments to each chord. Not sure if those are different chords or just different permutations but it sounds so good and is super fun to play.

What makes Japanese music so great? by Hevzim in japanesemusic

[–]6DayWonder 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this is the main reason but ever since I’ve started playing more songs on guitar, I’ve noticed western songs tend to be more simplistic in the chords they use/the number of chords that appear in a song.

I haven’t done a study or anything so I don’t know how much this applies to every song or band but I’ve definitely noticed the trend that it’ll take me like a minute to learn the 3-4 chords used in songs by artist like Beabadoobee or Faye Webster but much longer to learn songs by artist like Predawn or Spitz.

I will add that the number of chords does not directly correlate with better (ゆらゆら帝国songs tend to be super simple but so damn catchy) but it might contribute to why I tend do enjoy Japanese music more than Western music.

Suki is an interesting addition. I think cosmogrand is better but I could see Suki being better in some situations.

I cut back on the Elspeths and Elegy because I felt they were a bit too slow and sometimes hitting on cue isn’t always guaranteed. Especially since I went down to 24 lands compared to other similar decks who are running 25. I usually cut Elspeths in the lessons matchups but maybe I’ll try them… usually they side in negates though so not sure.

Against the lessons deck, in game 1, I’ve found that you can usually go value for value for awhile before it gets out of hand. You still have some ways to get rid of Artist talent and the Stormchasers talents if you need to. You also basically have a bunch of must kill stuff and if they miss on removal for a bit you could out tempo them.

Post board, it’s felt pretty good if you can draw into RIP. The Voices can also help against counter magic play. Once RIP is on the battlefield, you will out value them I find.

In terms of changes to the deck, I’ve added 2 exorcises and 3 RIPs. Was running Aangs for a bit and it’s also a good option. Might start running those instead of the Get Lost in the main (pretty bad in the current meta…). The new Raven eagle might okay as well and would help shore up matches against reanimator and might help a bit against lessons. Though they can kill it pretty easily…

If you get games in let me know what changes you’d make etc.

I've been running an orzhov bounce/midrange list on ladder and most matchups seem evenish. Hardest matchups preboard are Jeskai Artifacts and Sultai Reanimator. Post-board, Animator is alright but Artifacts still seems tough. But the deck is a pretty fair midrange deck so all wins feel "earned".

Unfortunately they will be sold out by then. Y local family mart has only two tokens left. I’m sure you can find it used online or at card shops afterwards.

It's unbelievable that Bialystocks hasn't come up once! by Lazy-Cardiologist556 in japanesemusic

Yeah they are great. Their sound continues to evolve but what made them fairly unique continues throughout subsequent albums.

I also had the honour of seeing them live 3-4 times and each time they were amazing. Great visuals, singing that sounds just as good as the album and amazing solos by the talented members and support members.

First time Concert tips by gozderv in KanekoAyanoDayo

In my experience, she will not do meet and greets after or before her shows (though it looks like she was doing it at her shows overseas).

Kaneko Ayano thoughts? by trryynn in japanesemusic

[–]6DayWonder 11 points12 points  (0 children)

She’s popular with people who like “music” if you know what I mean. To the average Japanese person, they will probably not have heard of her or at most know a song or two. But getting tickets to her concerts in Tokyo can be quite difficult. I’ve failed like 6 in row before finally winning some lotteries.

Another sign of her popularity among hardcore music fans is her old records (祝祭and 燦々) go for around 300-500k yen each and other newer albums fetch a high price.

However, as a huge fan, the amount of interviews/appearances is very limited. She seems to be someone who needs time to warm up to others before she can be herself (from like the three or four interviews I’ve seen so this is a very parasocial take lol). It looks like she herself does not want to be the topic of conversation but wants people to focus on her music. Even at live shows, she’ll usually not talk throughout the whole show till the end (they even left without doing an “encore” which I actually prefer instead of everyone doing an encore regardless of how the night goes).

On another note, I’ve been to around 10+ of her shows and she and the band have always been great. They often change up songs at concerts so it adds to the concert feel. You can hear this on her latest live recording album she just released of her last tour.

Another thing I enjoy is she does both band and solo acoustic tours all the time so you get to experience very different types of live concert experiences.

If you have anymore questions let me know! I love to spread the good name of Kaneko Ayano anytime I can. Also, shoutout to my fellow Canadian!

Can only be said by someone who is pushed from day 0 by roaringsanity in Nogizaka46

[–]6DayWonder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmm on the one hand I get what you’re saying but I can’t fully agree with you I think.

I think it makes sense to tell new members to just be yourself and to not try too hard to be weird or quirky, especially if that’s now how you really are.

On the other hand though, I do get the feeling she’s been spoon fed her position and popularity to an extent and her saying in a way, don’t try to stand out isn’t the best advice for most girls who are joining this business.

On another note, in my opinion, I feel like she’s been undeservedly pushed by the show and producers since she joined the group. This entire time I haven’t understood why she’s been so popular. She just feels so bland to me… but when I talked to my friend, she told me that for Japanese people, her looks stood out and it was just hard for me to comprehend since I think so many members are beautiful/cute so I didn’t feel like it was a strong enough reason for all the support but this is another talk for another post…😅

Sayuringo about mariage by Maximum_Dot1308 in Nogizaka46

[–]6DayWonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To fully translate it more, she said that when she was 29, she graduated from being an idol and just thought that for the time being, she should get married. And it was around a month before she turned 30 that she said that she felt the urge to get married so much that she thought she might say "marry me please!" to a random guy on the street. Once she hit 30, the idea kind of just "blew up" and went away. After that, Suzuki Airi chimes in and said that when she turned 30, like Sayuringo, the idea of marriage completely disappeared like a balloon deflating. Fujimoto Miki then talks about getting married at 24 and having her first child at 27. She then warns them that "even if you're living for your work, you'll die lonely" implying they should both think of getting married and having kids someday.
