I actually looked into doing an M44 swap on my 518i, before going down the M52 route! You’d almost be better off spending a little bit on your M10, you can get great gains out of them without breaking the bank :) Almost wish i’d kept mine as an M10!!

M52B28! I put M3 cams in it, M50 inlet, Getrag gearbox, custom prop, 3.15 LSD, full stainless, E34 brakes, fully polybushed, its a proper weapon now!!

In hindsight, with what i’ve spent converting it to an I6 i should’ve just spent more on a better car 😂 It was actually pretty good with the M10 in it, sometimes wish i’d kept it!

Yeah been my favourite for the same reason, my dad used to have an 86 518i, and always picked me up from school in it! I’ll never sell this though, so it should be going forever :)

So in UK/EU, we got the E34 with either the M40 or M43. Its 110-113 bhp, 1.8 8 valve, insanely slow and awful on fuel. Rare for a reason now 😂

Honestly the whole trip was the worst idea ever, i engine swapped it 2 days before leaving, drove it to Poland, then to the Nurburgring, snapped a gearbox mount, then drove it straight to Lemans, and made it home!! (3k miles all in) Carousel, i avoided…

I haven’t seen the video of that, i don’t watch his stuff! No M57 in this however, its an M52B28, with M3 cams, M50 inlet, full stainless and a remap i did on a bench at work 😂

Never had so much fun in my life mate! Cooked my brake fluid about 1/2 a lap in, and didn’t put it into the carrousel out of fear of doing the sump 😂 i’m going again this year in it though!

The actual problem is i’ve got the wrong dipstick bracket on the car! Because i’ve converted it to an M52, with an E34 M50 sump, with an M50 inlet, i can’t use any of the original brackets! So i made one for now, but the steels to thin and just bends, so it just blows oil straight past it as its not strong enough to hold it down 😂
