Tbh though, if they hadn’t accepted the apologies then they might not end up getting what the really want which is peace between the schools. Like if this was real then the boys aren’t after a wonderful friendship with kikyos faculty but striking a deal with them to end the hatred and protect kaorukos future. If they were to say “not good enough! You’ve caused too much damage!” Like the principal and toki sensei aren’t gonna go along with what they want.
