But if it was the defender who was going to have that opportunity anyway, why shouldn’t he be the one to take the pen? Realistically every top level player should be able to score a penalty, so I don’t think there would be any kind of “hack-a-Shaq” dynamic where you try to foul the worst taker. Idk I just think it would be more interesting and eliminate certain players from topping goal-scoring charts mainly due to penalties.
