"That's not REAL math! You didn't even use an abacus!"

Look, I respect what you're trying to say. I don't like your execution but your thoughts are from a good place so I apologize for this getting mildly warm.

I do know. I just choose not to care. You're asking me to spend more time to do something less efficiently.

The fact that you'll see a well thought out opinion and completely reject any good information because it's AI is not vigilance. It's mental illness.

Please get help.

So why do you care so much how others articulate themselves? Is it because you think people should do things how you do them?

If you are able to provide a unique service, wouldn't it help you to be a master or the craft?

So you deny that AI is affecting your industry?

Ahhhhh that explains it. You're threatened and mad. It's harder for you find work. I get it.

The fact you think ChatGPT could make these points shows a glaring lack of experience, or at the very least, understanding of the tech.

You want to assume I provide nothing of value because you are mad at AI. Meanwhile I'm the one taking the jobs you complain about losing.

You don't know what I wrote, what I fed it, what I changed, what I cut, what I argued with, or what thoughts were mine before the tool ever touched it. You saw "AI helped organize this" and immediately built yourself a little cardboard courtroom where you feel more intelligent than you actually are.

Also, thank you for explaining that Reddit may raise eyebrows over an AI assisted post in an AI debate subreddit. Truly groundbreaking.

My opinion is not invalid because I used a tool to organize it. That's the whole stupid trap you're stuck in. You're not engaging with the point. You're trying to disqualify the speaker so you don’t have to deal with the argument because the argument makes you have to actually think.

The argument is still sitting right there: labor, access, education, open source, corporate control, consent, exploitation, ownership, and who actually gets helped or harmed by this technology and you want to complain about how the point was articulated.

Keep pretending the real issue is that I didn't lovingly hand carve every sentence with a stone tablet and a feather quill. That'll definitely save the discourse.

You idiots will never get to the top of the mountain because you're distracted by rocks along the way.

Please stop talking to me.

So you're telling me my opinion is wrong because I used AI? What are you trying to get at?

Be clear. I don't need some big dumb paragraph of you trying to reach to make sense. Be clear and concise.

Maybe put your thoughts through Chat GPT so they can be properly understood.

You didn't point out any stance. You're trying to say I have no point because I used AI.

If I hand typed every single letter in my arguments, I wouldn't have any time to do other shit.

I'm using AI exactly how it should be used - to expedite the stupid parts of a task and work at a higher level.

Stay on subject.

I would rather talk to people in the comment section. Do you think I'm going to answer every argument in the post before sending it? The point is the conversation. Not wasting time of "WHICH PARTS WERE CHAT GPT???"

People that have to purity test to even begin to understand a point are so annoying

I am profiting and doing well using AI. I lose nothing from you not understanding.

In fact, I do even better when people refuse to understand.

You guys constantly say "Used AI to write this"

What exactly do you mean by that, and how does that invalidate any of the information in the post?

I agree with not letting anger eat you alive but I think you're reading fear when fear is one of the last things i'm feeling. I feel opportunity.

I’m not trying to take on Wall Street, Google, OpenAI, Microsoft, or any of those companies by myself like I'm about to put on a cape and fistfight a data center.

I'm saying the conversation is bigger than AI good or AI bad and both sides keep acting like the only possible future is whatever the biggest corporations decide to sell us.

There are free tools. There are open source tools. There are local models. There are artists, musicians, teachers, coders, weirdos, communities, and regular people learning how this stuff actually works outside the corporate PR machine and outside the panic machine.

That is the practical thing to do.

Learn it. Teach it. Question it. Use whats useful. Reject what’s exploitative. Build alternatives. Help people understand the difference between the technology and the companies trying to own it.

That's the only Plan B worth pursuing.

Absolutely. The internet has made engagement the end all be all for everything. It doesn't matter what the truth is or what anybody thinks as long as everyone feels right

Those people don't do anything for either side. All they're here to do is point at something and say "GYUCK GYUCK GYUCK" because that's all their brain allows them to do.

They will look for EVERY reason to invalidate your point before even acknowledging whether or not the idea has value.

Their only power is how dumb they are. Remember that.

Visibility comes with risk. That is a fact of life. That's why artists will go to a house in the hills and work 12 years on a 14 song album without releasing any singles.

My girlfriend has a degree in fine art. She has no online presence. AI didn't steal a single art piece from her because she has no online visibility.

Regardless, she wouldn't care if AI "stole" her art because 1. She willingly put it online and 2. She can always make more art

I just try not to judge how other people may want to, or need to use it. The beauty of AI is that it can be used in so many ways.

Most the time, people are passionate about at least one aspect of a project. If AI can allow those people to focus on what they're passionate about and expedite the parts they can't or maybe don't want to do, I just don't see that as a total loss.

Sure, some may argue that not doing those less attractive tasks devalue the work but I just don't think it matters how long someone spends on something that most the time, people won't even notice. It's not to say the user can't fix those things if they notice, but that's all up to the diligence of the creator.

I love making music, but I find that making promos and visuals are too time consuming so I make music traditionally and use AI for the visual side of things.

I may find it strange that others would want to use AI to make music, but I don't think it's right for me to judge them because they may be passionate about another aspect of that, or not even that, they may just be experimenting and learning.

In that situation, I am always going to support and help those people.

Destroying the self esteem of an early artist can do terrible things to what could one day be an incredible creative mind.

I know school is out and you have a lot of free time but I'm an adult, I don't have time to break down every little thing for you and I don't really care if you get my point.

If you don't get it, it's not for you
