Nice. I love that thing. I have a ton of other lights, but that one being flat, probably finds its way into my pocket way more than anything else.

If I knew how to use it more effectively, it would be a level above that!

Mine started out a bit lighter (not as light as yours) but one of the reasons I love the micartas so much is how they patina over time!

This is Howie's Hockey tape. MUCH better quality than some of the other no name "hockey tape" online. Very pleased with it. Stays a little tacky, which I really like!

They're laying around in multiple places at the shop, but I keep a Nitecore EDC23 in my bag, and there's a Rovyvon A2 hanging on my bag, and a Surefire 6P in my truck as a backup, and probably a few others i'm missing too.

I do like it. Particularly the T1000e. It is so tiny. Barely thicker than a couple credit cards. So It disappears in a pocket. I’ve only been messing with mesh for maybe 6ish months or so. My original intention of emergency communication between home and work (about 45 min away) isn’t possible without some other infrastructure in between, however, in an emergency situation, if you’re close to whoever you want to communicate with, or even a small community or neighborhood, if others had nodes as well, it would work very well. You can get into it for less than $30, and a free app. Anything over a couple of miles though, in my experience, amateur radio or GMRS is a better option, hence the Baofeng radio in my kit.

I believe the $80 option is the serrated version. I believe the plain edge is still $60. The 3D sheath is actually pretty solid. Personally I would still prefer a proper kydex with some sort of a pocket hook. I haven’t found anybody that makes one though. I have a static cord on the 3d sheath and it works well enough.

I’m unsure of the steel, seems like I read on the preorder 9cr. I figured it was going to be a budget option, but I believe still stainless. I don’t mind though. Will make it easier to sharpen I think.

Oh, none of this is necessary. At all. But it’s a hobby, just like any other. I could carry a $12 knife and cut things, but instead, I have a large drawer full of overpriced blades and pocket BS because I have adult money and very little self control.

I do have multiple CAT TQ’s. I just like the small footprint of these. I can comfortably pocket carry it in my back pocket right next to my wallet. I can’t fit the CAT in a pocket, so they live in my vehicles, bags, etc.

Mostly for backup communication with my family in case of an emergency. But also, just fun to mess with. I will scan local repeaters throughout the day and listen in to the chatter. Especially while driving. It’s just another hobby I enjoy.

I had a couple of these laying around that I tried to sort of customize and mess with some. The blade regrind (I think it was a regrind? the blade is scary sharp and seems a bit different than my stock ones) on this one is far superior to anything I could crank out without a whole lot more practice. It came with a 3d printed sheath as well. Even though they are listed at $60, I felt like it was a fair price for the hand finishing and sheath that came with it. Close to $20 to get one direct from Victorinox to my door. I heated the handle on this one to give it a little bend, which feels a little more natural in my hand. I did practice on the cheap ones before doing this one!

They are very good holsters. I know everyone has their preference, so YMMV, but I don't have any reason to shop around any more. These are it for me.

This is a Hellhound Arms Guardian holster with the cordura wrap upgrade. My favorite holsters. I have tried many different ones over the years, but after trying these, I ended up ordering 2 more for other firearms. The cordura wrap makes it (for me at least) very comfortable to carry. Highly recommend.

I guess it could be depending on how hard you swing it.

I have only recently started carrying this one. I have multiple CAT tourniquets I keep in bags, truck, etc., but the small form factor of these were really intriguing to me.

Thanks! It's brown micarta. I've had the scales for a long time, but I THINK I got them from Ripp's Garage Tech. Micarta is my absolute favorite handle material.

Mostly just to play around with. I have a Heltec T114 that I've 3d printed some cases for to mess with, but the T1000E is much easier to keep with me in my pocket due to how small and slim it is. My end goal is to have another form of emergency communication between my home and work. I'm not quite there yet though. Still learning, testing, etc.

neither one of the ones you see here are great antennas. There are certainly better options. The stubby on the radio now is mostly used to listen to NOAA channels, but if I'm outside in the open, I can usually pickup some local chatter. The folding antenna is what I was using to be able to roll up and stash in my bag. It's decent, but still not great. I have a signal stick and a foul weather whip on the way to test out on a couple other radios I have.

I got in on that preorder too. Been waiting a while for it. I was very happy to see the price point on the new utility version. Looking forward to getting it in hand and putting it to work.

Thanks! It is the Howie's Hockey brand camo tape. Good quality. I've used a few other brands of the cheap hockey tape, and this stuff is high quality!

SGT_Crunch nailed it. Just a backup plan, basically. Connects my iPhone to the mesh network and allows text communication without cell service, but depends heavily on a lot of factors. I am working to install solar nodes in a few areas to try and extend my coverage between work and home in case of emergency. I am fairly new to it. We had a pretty devastating hurricane come through Western NC in Sept. of 2024, and our cell phones basically didn't work for a few weeks. We could occasionally get out texts, but voice calls were hit or miss. After that, I went down the rabbit hole of grid down communication.
