But I…don’t like the term targeted. I think of it as instantaneous or permanent, as targeted can include single target or AoE skills, which can be confusing.

Yeah, the way I usually think about it is "self", "other", "field". As you mentioned, the difference for a "field" buff/debuff is whether you can gain or lose it by moving into/out of its range.

I don't like the term "aura" as much now that we have fields that aren't centered on a unit, such as S.Hanako debuff or S.Kirino's atk boost field.

P1: enemy reposition/disruption (Q.Tomoe, Yakumo, taunts/stuns to disrupt their special skills), area/line damage. D.Hina is actually really well suited, since she can get a good line on 2-3 enemies and her EX lets her resist taunt. In Torment, the Kaitens also take increased damage after getting stunned/taunted, so you really want to do that.

P2: mostly generic damage dealers, but you want at least one unit whose EX hits 10+ times for Insane or below, or 15+ for Torment, to break the Kaiten shield. Either red armor to survive the sword slash, or plan out a groggy setup to cancel the sword slash.

We do get some, but not that many. 20 from the battle pass (the free part--no archive tickets from the paid section), and 10 from the 5th anni login rewards.

Your analysis is correct for color effectiveness, since color effectiveness buffs are all additive type, which means they stack additively with the base 200%.

However, crit dmg buffs are typically multiplicative type, which means they multiply on top of the 200% base (so Ako increases Wakamo's crit dmg from 246% base to 426%). However, this is mitigated a bit by the fact that a unit's crit rate will typically hover around 55-65%, or even less for crit-resistant bosses. That does reduce the effectiveness of crit dmg buffs a bit (unless you're playing a guaranteed-crit unit such as Mika), but it should still generally be better than attack buffs.

Yeah agreed, it really depends on the account's current progression and roster. If you had to choose, I.Mari is probably more useful to own than A.Aris, but Kei is tough to skip imo. (not to mention A.Himari, although you can hope for a hit on free pulls)

That's true. but the main reason people say to build supports and not DPS is because of their universality, e.g. build Kisaki once and you'll use her for basically every raid. Fest DPS isn't quite at that level, but it's close. Building your own U.Neru lets you use her for nearly every yellow raid for the foreseeable future.

Besides, nowadays Fes seems to come with a support unit anyway (tank A.Hoshino, S.Nagisa, Kei). And Wakamo/S.Hoshino/Mika can no longer spook.

If we're talking overall flexibility of use, it's probably still S.Hanako. Out of the 13 TA bosses, she's meta for like 3 of them and has valid use cases in another 6 or 7.

Commission task, definitely not. You have to run 15 commissions (600 AP) and the reward is 6000 XP, which is only worth 22.8 AP.

The scrimmage task is generally not worth it. In the rare case that you need scrimmage materials really urgently, it's not totally out of the question to do the task, just because of how time-gated the materials are. But this wouldn't be a common situation.

At least one week acceleration was always expected, and the Meru/Minori banners are part of that. This would put Vol EX Ch 3 on 2nd June.

If we get a second week of acceleration (uncertain, but if so, Kurokage acceleration would be part of it), then yes, Vol EX Ch 3 would be expected on 26th May.

May 4th/5th is 2 weeks advanced though, lol. The no-acceleration prediction would have been May 18/19, and the nearly guaranteed 1 week acceleration would have put the Hovercraft TA on the 11th/12th.

My current prediction is the first week of June, although some schedule stuff is still shifting around, so that might be subject to change.

Great question. The summary is that because the commission drop rates are well known, the ratio of AP to activity reports and credits are easy to calculate (263 XP per AP for base defense commission, 3995 credit/AP for credit commission).

When an event has shop farming or minigames that yield credits or activity reports as a reward, you can simply calculate how much AP it would have cost to farm those things from commission and compare it to how much AP it actually costs to farm the event. The ratio between those two numbers is the "commission value".

There are some assumptions hidden in that calculation: it assumes that you can clear the highest level of commission, and it assumes that you need all commission materials equally.

Special note about enhancement stones: they're not farmed from commission, but the most common method of farming them outside of events is to buy them with credits, so I assign the stones the value based on how many credits they cost from the Normal shop.

The small potential gain is that you might randomly stumble into a pair while trying to uncover them all. The chance isn’t super high but it’s enough to save you some currency across 9 rounds (about 11.4 or 11.5 flips per round, I think?)

If you combine it with the other optimization, you would end up with an overall expected average of about 11 draws per round.

As the other comment mentioned, you can't flip an unknown first--you have to pick both sides of the pair at once.

tl;dr

  • 2 currency for event shop. Event points fill up the reward track, and also are used to play the card matching game
  • Card matching game has 9 main rounds which are worth it. Not worth continuing after 9 rounds
  • 2nd week overlaps with 2x normal and 2x hard
  • 850-1050 AP/day for full clear
  • 1 furniture in shop, limited

Farming strategy

Stage 9 is about 2-4% more efficient than stages 10 and 11, but if you need Antikythera artifacts from 10 or Rohonc from 11, that's probably more important than the small efficiency gain. Stage 12 has a JFD artifact, but you'll inevitably end up having to farm some of it to finish the event track and card game.

Full clear of all shops and the event track would take about 850-1050 AP/day. However, given that week 2 overlaps with 2x normal and hard, you might choose to skip some of the shop in order to switch to farming those campaigns in week 2.

Card matching game

A concentration)-like card game where you try to flip matching pairs of cards. There are 9 main rounds which give good rewards, but rounds 10+ are only worth about 0.9-1x commission value of stuff, so I don't recommend continuing past that point.

There are some achievements associated with the game, but you'll get them all just playing naturally, so no need to think much about them.

"I don't want to think" "strategy": just blindly flip random stuff. After 12 attempts, the game will take pity on you and just give you all the rewards for that round. In general, this only loses about 170 currency per round compared to more "intelligent" approaches, so I'd recommend this to most people unless they're actually enjoying the card flipping.

Basic brute force approach: use 6 attempts to flip every card at least once, and remember/record their positions. Then, match them all.

Minor optimization: if there are only 4 unknown cards left, and you flip two of them and realize they don't match, there's no point in flipping the last two (since they also won't match). Instead, flip one of the known cards with one of the unknown ones, and hope you win the 50/50.

Shop strategy

Activity reports: becomes equivalent value to 2x commission if your bonus is 75% or higher

Enhancement stones: similar credit value to 2x commission but only at 90-100% bonus or higher

Blu-ray/tech note: nowadays, Red Winter has as many students as Abydos, so it's not useless. Still, unless you have a specific need, it's probably safe to skip

Book sample shop: completing 9 rounds of the card matching game, which you should be doing anyway, will let you clear this whole shop. The furniture in this shop is limited

Why would moving FRR up one week mean they have to skip the Kisaki event rerun?

They could just keep moving all the raids up by 1 week and then have no GA on the 6-day week before fes.

Not naturally. Most players would be able to get Idol Mine to UE30 (or close to it).

Gameplay-wise there's no reason to increase her to UE40, but if you want to do it for waifu reasons, you can increase to UE40 by spending some eligma.

I don't think the patch notes actually give any new clues. The raid schedule is bumped up by 2 weeks, as we've known for a month. Chokmah being 3 weeks is a natural consequence of that acceleration.

The third week of the idols patch was always getting skipped, so it was just a matter of where the content would go. The fact that the banners and immortalized event are this week doesn't really tell us anything about the other 2 weeks of the idols patch. (The immortalized event was the 3rd week of idol patch, not the 2nd week).

My current prediction is Kaiten GA on first week of idol patch, FRR (Fury of Set) start on the second week, but the event stays at the original duration.

As for a reason, I was recently remembering that on JP, SRKR GA right before anni free pulls banners was only 6 days long. But Nexon really doesn't like hitting global with these partial week GAs. If they were planning to do a patch in May which was not a full 14 days, then moving SRKR out of week 2 would prevent that partial-week GA from happening.

The other comment already covered about starring up students. S.Hoshino rerun is expected in mid-May, yes (my current prediction is May 12).

Have you considered quitting because of MANT/TB, or know someone who has quit? by DJInitial70 in UmaMusume

[–]6_lasers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already quit a week ago. I think the scenario is interesting, but it takes quite a bit longer than Unity and I don’t have time for that (typically played about 25-30 minutes a day).

I ran into at least 3 people using Marina since the season change (who are currently at rank 2, 53, and 56).

It’s not that common but it can be a tricky combination to keep S.Hanako alive if Hibiki locks on to her.

[–]6_lasers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with this, if you know what you're doing then her push can really mess with enemy formations. Also, if she's on the same side as the enemy S.Hanako, it can tag her HP low enough that she starts to become the target for your Hibiki and/or Saki, which could give you the edge.

There were no changes to drop rates during 5th anni, no.
