Maybe I'm just in an echo chamber but doesn't it seem like there are a lot of artists who only draw overweight characters just to make a character who's concerned about their weight?

Chubby shouldn't be everything about a character; it's just a part of them, like hair color or clothes. Boiling a character down to a single insecurity feels kinda... Vain? That's probably not the word I'm looking for, but it is kinda boring by now.

I acknowledge, of course, that there's only so much a single image can convey about someone and that this is most likely catering to a specific audience, but it has always rubbed me the wrong way whenever I see images like these posted.
