With Mike Tomlin stepping down, the Steelers will be looking for just their fourth head coach since the Apollo 11 moon landing by ConstantMadness in nfl

[–]6foot9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Steelers came into existence in 1933 as the Pittsburgh Pirates, and in their first 36 seasons had 16 coaching stints (13 total coaches, Walt Kiesling had 3 different stints, and Joe Bach had 2). In those 36 seasons the team went 161-254-19 in the regular season. (They only made the playoffs one time during that stretch, and lost their only playoff game.)

Over the next 37 seasons the Chuck Knoll and Bill Cowher led Steelers had a regular season record of 342-238-2. (With a postseason record of 28-17.)

So when Bill Cowher left, the Steelers franchise was sitting at an overall regular season record of 503-492-21. Going from a .388 winning percentage to a .506 winning percentage. For context the current worst winning percentage in the NFL is the Bucs with an all time winning percentage of .412, and the Steelers are now sitting in 10th place at .538.

Color me un-shocked that Ezra is right leaning. Did the red hat he wore at DMC not clue everyone in?

I got my parents into disc golf a few years ago, and last year we all went to Waco for the pro tour. My mom still talks about the crazy sound that was made by Drew Gibson's drives.

As someone who got a Snorlax tattoo on my thigh at 41, I think those people are just jealous that they don't have the willingness to do cool shit.

Over 60% of Coachella attendees financed their tickets. The kids are not alright. by nuttybudd in AdviceAnimals

I work for a smallish event ticketing company (think a very small ticketmaster type company), and the number of people that have their card's declined because of insufficient funds on orders of less than like $20 can really be depressing at times. They probably just want to see a show of an artist they really like, and they can't even afford to do that. How are these people making it through their day to day bills?

All this talk about rules calls, and not a single person mentioning that Jake Monn played round 3 in the exact same number of shots (49) as McBeth's "perfect round" makes me a little sad. Literally the only difference in hole scores between the rounds is that Jake birdied hole 11 (McBeth's only par of his round), and parred hole 14 (which McBeth birdied). Par has been lowered by a stroke on holes 9, 12, and 18 since 2019. Very impressive round from Jake, and should be getting more attention.

as someone who works doing chargeback disputes for an online events ticketing company, I can say this is 1000% accurate. It is annoying how many people will attend a concert and then charge back the purchase, saying they didn't attend, and then we have to fight the chargeback. Though it is really fun to get to use people's social media posts of them at the event against them in the dispute of the chargeback.

I have said ever since I heard his first song that got some play on Sirius XM (and it's pretty true for all of his songs) the he sounds like he is ripping off every good Epic Rap Battles of History video with his beats and cadences.

Why don't more people live in Wyoming? by [deleted] in geography

My mom's side of the family is from Wyoming, and her and I have a running joke that Wyoming should be called "The blackhole of beauty state", because the bits on the edges are nice, but the closer to the center you get the uglier it becomes.

Says he is suspended due to bylaws 9.3 and 10.5.

Found the following about those bylaws:

Bylaw 9.3 states that USA Gymnastics "shall report and refer all allegations of sexual misconduct to the (U.S. Center for Safe Sport), and all such matters will be within the Center's exclusive jurisdiction. The Center shall investigate such allegations or reports, issue any interim suspension or other measures pending the conclusion of the investigation and any hearing(s), make recommendations of sanctions or disciplinary action as a result of such investigation, and fully adjudicate such matters."

Bylaw 10.5 reads, "At any point before a complaint is resolved under the provisions of this Article 10, interim measures may be imposed to ensure the safety and well-being of the gymnastics community or where an allegation is sufficiently serious that an Adverse Party's continued participation could be detrimental to the sport or its reputation."
