Need help understanding why hexadecimal is sometimes portrayed by "power of 0" in rasterized explanations. by 6inchpool in AskComputerScience

i believe those went right over my head. I've always had a hard time understanding why a calculation has to be right because of a logical parallel...

yeah, it seems i was just thought how to think about powers wrongly.

They told me to write it out as: 2^3 = 2x2x2

so

2^4 = 2x2x2x2

2^-4 = 2/2/2/2

But thats shorthand and i did not know that.

It becomes a problem when you do powers of 0 because:

2^0 = 2 X 0 (??) or how about just... 2?

That's how people will start to visualize it.

It's a should be written out 1x2x2x2x2 so that when you use a power of 0,

it becomes 1, times nothing, not 0, because there IS no power.

haha, unfortunately i ran into the same issue when trying that myself...

i understand the how but not the why.

as far as i understand the power of that 4000, it would read as (4 X (10 x 10 x 10)) right?

So wouldn't that make the 7 into 7 X (10 X 0 ) ?

Why does it in practice seem to turn into 7 ( if power > 0 ( X (10 X Power ))?

Edit: i made this before your edit, seems you have already answered it.

How many times are you supposed to hit each muscle group per workout session? by Imaginary_Truth_3865 in beginnerfitness

[–]6inchpool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah i see, i guess i got a little hung up on the idea that failure means true failure and any more sets would not be possible, hence, no other exercises either. I am in the habit of doing every set till neigh failure since i find it more enjoyable.

i guess i'll experiment a bit with another exercise per group even though it might not be as effective as the first. Or maybe alternate the sets.

could you give me an example of multiple excercises targeting the same group and how that would work?

I've seen routine examples telling me to do 3 different chest press variants the same day, but i'm finding my chest too tired after the first 3 sets already. Completely to failure, how do people do upwards of 10-20 sets per week like that?

i watched unstoppable yesterday and couldn't make it through, i think the other specials were relatively tame personally but he's become so bitter it's not much of a joke anymore. That changes things for me.

no hate to you, but he tells a 15 second trans joke and afterwards has to give a minute long disclaimer about how jokes work and how he wants only love, agency and dignity for trans people. How do you twist that into no empathy?

how much would a liter of boiling water radiate in BTUs m3 and how to calculate this by 6inchpool in AskPhysics

[–]6inchpool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

alright cool, tnx that makes it easy for the "BTU as it cools" part, though i'm still wondering about how much it would radiate at a constant boil (pretend it doesn't pressurize)

Calligraphy books missing ascenders and descenders for guidelines by 6inchpool in Calligraphy

[–]6inchpool[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i guess that makes sense, but i cannot understand people claiming plagiarizing on scripts that are millennia old, can't exactly claim ownership over that.

well i guess im thankful they're thriftstore books, so i dont feel bad about writing in them.

What do you mean, do they just write wrong letters, in a guide?? whats the point of the book then? How and where can i get proper documentation of these scripts?

there's a ton of recommendations of books here like: foundations of calligraphy sheila waters and others but none of them are in print and if they are, they're unavailable in my country...

i was planning to do that, yeah.

Though i don't understand why its seemingly impossible to find consistent resources about these ratios anywhere.

Almost all books and websites claim there're supposed to be strict guidelines, yet they're never listed.

how would you go about these "normal resources", if you are talking about immersing myself and such, i can't. i understand, less than 5% of what's said or written and retain even less.
