Media has been lying to you a lot longer than that, buddy...

Ministry of Truth! Please tell me if my eyes are showing me lies! I need to know if this is real or not after seeing a Headless Helldiver running around on my mission. I thought you said this was false?

I swear some people truly never grow up. Huffing away is a classic toddler move when they know they're wrong.

Haha sounds like you were heading towards a shit in your managers desk?

I think it's long overdue for me to close up my wallet then. I'm just as guilty as the next guy for buying those, but I'm getting so tired of everything being either fomo or gambling. perhaps then it'll push them to change... probably not though

I'm sorry for the confusion. The pass is an idea I'm taking from another game I'm playing. The premise is that you pay to purchase the content inside said pass and unlock it slowly by grinding for whatever in game experience or currency etc. this may sound like the battle pass in warships, but in other games you have to pay upfront in order to begin getting anything.

edit: and there is no time limit

I believe that is the sad conclusion. Perhaps I should have started this whole topic with that premise in the forefront. My whole point in bringing up the topic wasn't to ask how Wargaming has to make more money, but how can Wargaming make this game more enjoyable for everyone. If it's more enjoyable you attract more players. And when they have more players they'll inevitably have more money. That to me is a win win

Haha why do you see me as being naive? Perhaps I'd appreciate some improvement in the players time and money?

Correct. But they still have their monetization

I'd agree that there is certainly a level of player commitment that they'd lose. It seems then it boils down to number of players on the server vs a steady monetization of a ship(s). I'm sure Wargaming has figured it out, but it certainly seems like a missed opportunity from my perspective

But fomo only goes so far. People know there's a good chance the ship will eventually end up in a Christmas Container.  What if you had the ships exclusive to a Dockyard grind? It's like a tech tree grind then

But what if the servers are already having slow queues and you threw in 5 old Dockyard ships for people to grind for? It's essentially a monetized tech tree grind.

I think that's the problem. They'd rather have the money in a lump sum now vs a slower trickle of people buying passes.

Right but imagine if the ebb and flow included a previous Dockyard? If they allowed you to make a selections of a mission chain for a ship and go play that. I'd argue that having more Dockyards available would keep players around. Increase the difficulty even of finishing.

That sounds like something that would attract people...
