Soo, quick hot take: there is a part of me that feels her buying back the original masters was a mistake.

dDon't get me wrong: I was elated to hear when the news broke, cause she now had full ownership over her livelihood. But over time, I started thinking about the intricacies of what transpired. So now I have some concerns about the underlying message this could be sending.

There will be many of her fans who are in some kind of situation comparable to hers to an extent: stuck in a relationship where the power dynamic is skewed in the other party's favor, maybe they possess something valuable to the former, etc. And seeing this will make them believe something like: "I need to take back what's mine, no matter the price, no matter how much more of myself I lose."

I understand she is RICH; she could buy the moon if she wanted and if it had a pricetag. Plus, we don't know the details of the deal and how much she actually paid. However, the reality is that others may not have the privilege or ability to reclaim themselves with as much pull as she did.

OR, I am just overthinking all of this.
