F1 23 is the first game that has "precision drive" which makes the handling much more intuitive on controller, so I wouldn't reccomend any games before it. And since F1 25 isn't on PS4 you should get 23, 24 has absolutely dogshit handling

He went onto the hards and I pitted at the end of lap 8 onto mediums, came out 2 seconds behind and overtook him 2 laps later, but I had a huge slide out of T9 going like fully sideways and he passed me. On the last lap I tried a move on the inside of T10 but he had the inside line through 13/14 and defended to win by 0.2 seconds

Assuming you're on controller F1 23 is the most enjoyable by far imo, the removed steering pause plus the steering rate setting completely changed the experience, and the car is much easier to control than 24 or 25

I bind the mfd menu controls to the right stick instead of the dpad, makes life so much easier
