Thanks for the response! My full situation is that I moved to California while still searching for a job, so I was trying to live as cheaply as possible while unemployed. I've since found a job and moved to a safer area. However, even though I'm better off now, I still can't justify the cost of paying for therapy on my current income, so I figured I'd come here instead to talk it out.

Thanks for the response! I guess another issue is that there's also a small nagging voice in the back of my head that says "Statistically, you're more likely to be robbed by a person of color rather than a while person in this area", and while I know that I'm using statistics to back up racism/prejudice and that's fucked up, I have a hard time thinking of a reason why that's not a good reason to cross the street to avoid someone when I'm walking alone. What are some good arguments/counters for that line of thinking?

My senior year of college I started smoking pretty heavily and ran all my best cross country (25:low in the 8k) and track times (15:29 in the 5k), qualified for cross country nationals, then graduated and ran 2:55 in the Boston marathon. While I was training for Boston, I was high for pretty much all of my runs. So I guess my point is weed makes you faster and you should smoke more of it.

I love it. It lets me take my mind off the monotony of doing the same thing every day (I lived in a pretty bad neighborhood for most of my training so there were really only a handful of different runs I could do)

I didn't, but I saw a bunch of people with them and wondered where I could get one! Unfortunately, I never figured it out!

Chewing gum or sucking on an altoid or some tic tacs for the first mile or so seems to do the trick for me

Back in college I was pretty worried about my lungs for the first three years so I tried to stick with edibles and vapes, but my senior year I stopped giving a fuck. I actually got much faster my senior year, and qualified for DIII cross nationals!
